You Are Allowed To Make Mistakes

It is through mistakes that we become wiser, and so you should allow yourself to make mistakes, don’t be afraid of making them, and just be afraid of not trying anything new for fear of making mistakes because it is in that moment where you make the biggest mistake of all: The mistake of being too afraid to live truly.

There is no other way to learn without making a mistake first, every successful person you have met has not reached that place of glory without having made many mistakes along the way. They have been defeated many times, and they have failed over and over again, but they didn’t let those mistakes stop them, rather they learned from them and they kept moving forward.

Those people have become what they are now thanks to their mistakes because they have collaborated to develop the greatness inside them. They tried and they failed, they have made many mistakes, but they have learned from them, and that is why they became successful. When you learn from your mistakes you become wiser, and when you become wiser, you learn to do something in a different and better way, and that is when you achieve success.

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” – George Bernard Shaw

When you refuse to do the things you always wanted to do because of the fear of making mistakes, it is at the exact moment when you actually make the greatest mistake of all: The mistake of refusing to live the life you have always wanted. You must accept mistakes as part of the process of doing something and being able to learn from them, so you can become the person you always wanted to be and have the life you always wanted to have.

Mistakes can prove two different things: They can prove how useless you are if you have refused to learn from them, making the same mistakes over and over again, and achieving nothing but failure, or they can prove how wise you have become after you have learned from your mistakes, making everything in a completely different way, achieving nothing more than success.

“Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

Mistakes can be a synonym for failure, but they can also be a synonym for success if you learn from them. The problem is we think that mistakes indicate that we have failed, but the truth is they only indicate that we have been doing something the wrong way, this means that we still have the opportunity to do something but in a totally different way. Mistakes teach us how not to do something, so we can find the best way to do it the right way, and in that process of learning from them, we become a better person and wiser.

Embrace the fact that you will make mistakes along the way because mistakes are part of our success, so there is no such thing as mistakes, there are only ways of not doing something. If you can see mistakes as a lesson, see the true treasure they hold within, and learn from them, you will find the key to success.

“A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.” – John C. Maxwell

On the other hand, if you refuse to see them as lessons, you risk doing them over and over again, because the first way to learn from them is by accepting that we have made a mistake, that way we can see we have been doing something the wrong way, and it is not the best thing we can do if we want to become a better person. If you don’t accept your mistakes, if you don’t try to correct them, then you will condemn yourself to a life of failure, because you will turn your mistakes into habits.

So don’t be afraid of doing something because of the fear of making mistakes, but rather be afraid of not making them at all, because that way you will have failed by default. Mistakes are not lethal, they don’t define who you are, they just challenge you so you can become better, and they are an opportunity to become wiser.

Don’t let mistakes destroy you, don’t let them stop you, and don’t let them become a habit, just do what you have always wanted to do with confidence, make mistakes, learn from them, correct them, and become successful!
