Yes, I believe in miracles. But maybe not in the way we were taught. A miracle is not the universe bending to your will. It’s not a wish granted because you believed hard enough. A miracle is something far more subtle — and far more powerful.

We are so used to existing that we forget how extraordinary existence is. We call life “normal.” We call love “common.” We call healing “time passing.” But the truth is: the fact that we are here, aware, capable of choice — that alone is astonishing. It is the fact that you are alive at all. It is breath. It is consciousness. It is the ability to love. It is the capacity to begin again.
Belief does not magically rearrange the universe. But belief changes you. When you believe something is possible, you act differently. You notice opportunities. You persist longer. You open doors instead of assuming they are locked. And sometimes, from the outside, that looks like a miracle.
“The whole world is a series of miracles, but we’re so used to seeing them that we call them ordinary things.” – Hans Christian Andersen
The difference is not in reality. The difference is in perception. When you see life as empty, it feels empty. When you see life as meaningful, you move differently within it. Miracles are not always supernatural events. Sometimes a miracle is:
- choosing hope when cynicism is easier
- forgiving when resentment feels justified
- trying again after failure
- loving after being hurt
Sometimes a miracle is simply refusing to give up on yourself. Faith is not blind optimism. Faith is courage in uncertainty. It is walking forward even when you don’t see the whole path.
“Never lose hope, my dear heart. Miracles dwell in the invisible.” – Rumi
Maybe miracles are not events that happen to you. Maybe miracles happen through you. Through your persistence. Through your love. Through your decision to grow instead of shrink. The life you dream of is not waiting for magic. It is waiting for you to move toward it.
And maybe the real miracle is this: That at any moment — no matter how far you think you’ve fallen — you can choose differently. And begin again.
