Life is like a river; it is constantly flowing. It can flow slowly or quickly and change course, but nothing can stop the river from flowing. The same happens with life—no external circumstances can stop it from moving forward. One thing is sure: Life always goes on.
We have different options: We can go with the flow and move forward with life, stay still like a rock while life passes over us, or fight against the current. Will you move forward toward a better future, or will you remain stuck in that dark and hopeless place? You create your own luck; you create your future. You choose.
No matter what happens, life always continues. According to Wikipedia, the Earth is 4.6 billion years old, but life began a little later—around 3.8 billion years ago. Humans, however, have only existed for a few hundred thousand years. Since the beginning, countless circumstances have affected life on Earth in many ways, but one way or another, life has always managed to move on.
From birth, humans go through many different circumstances. Just as a river faces varying external conditions, so does life. We are exposed to many changes, and these changes impact our lives differently. It’s not the circumstance itself that matters most but how we react to it.
“When the pretty birds have flown, and you feel hurt and alone, be strong and carry on, and remember that life goes on.” – Mouloud Benzadi
In this beautiful and sometimes turbulent river called life, there will be many situations along the way. Sometimes, the external conditions will be favorable, pushing us forward in the stream of life. Other times, they will hit us like a hard punch in the face, making us fall, and we may feel nothing but pain. But will it paralyze us? Will it destroy us? The truth is, there is no set answer—because we determine the answer based on our reaction and our next steps. But is it possible to move on? Yes, definitely.
Whatever has happened, we can’t go back to the past to change it. No matter how hard we fight the current, we will never return to the point we wish to change. Therefore, moving forward is the only way to change our current situation. Our present is where we build the foundations of our future. Every day of your life, you can choose to start again.
“Accidents happen. Our bones shatter, our skin splits, our hearts break. We burn, we drown, we stay alive.” – Moïra Fowley-Doyle
We can fight the current and end up exhausted. We can refuse to move on, staying stuck in misery forever. Or we can decide to move forward with the current rhythm. Life always goes on, and we have the power to decide what to do with our lives. Will we let an external situation, whatever it may be, define us? Paralyze us? Destroy our goals and dreams? Or are we going to be the creators of our destiny, believing in God and ourselves? We decide. With or without us, life will go on.
Nothing remains as it is—life flows like a river. It changes, it evolves, and it always moves on. If we move forward with it, no matter how dark the moment may be, always remember: the sun never disappears; it only hides. Sooner or later, the bright light of a sunny morning will come through your window.
Leave the past, live in the present, create your future, and always move forward in the direction of your dreams!
