If you find yourself feeling miserable, making excuses for not having done the things you always wanted to do, it’s probably because you have allowed your fears to control your mind, and when you do that you let your fears control your entire life.
Fears are powerful, they can either trigger the greatness inside of you that will make you create the life of your dreams, or they can destroy your spirit and make your life a nightmare. Fears are part of life, there is no way we can avoid them, they exist in every culture and in every place of this world, to a greater or lesser extent they will always be present in the lives of human beings, the kind of impact they will have on us will depend on how well we deal with them.
Fears can hold you back or can push you forward, what makes the difference between them is whether you choose to control your fears and use them as motivation to become better and better, or use them as a cage where you lock yourself in for the rest of your life. The second choice is always easier because you give your fears the power to control you, while you keep staying in your cage, feeling safe, as you don’t take any risks there, but the first choice is going to give you what your soul yearns for, because your soul knows who you are, and you are not your fears, you are better than that.
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
If you don’t take risks in your life because of your fears you will only risk one thing: the possibility of having the life of your dreams. If you risk nothing, then you risk everything, because you make your life a fortune wheel and you leave everything to chance, and it is in that moment where you give to your fears all the power they need to control your life, and everything you ever wanted, every dream, every goal disappears in the blackness of your fears. If you let them control you, they will take you all the possibilities you have, to move forward in the direction of your dreams, and you will be stuck in a place of sadness, frustration, anger, disappointment, and hopelessness for the rest of your days.
So if you haven’t moved forward in your life if you haven’t taken any risk for a while if you haven’t tried anything new if you haven’t done what you love for a long time if you haven’t been delighted enjoying your life to the fullest if you have been doing only the things you are supposed to do is because you have allowed you fear to control your life, you have no power at all right now, and nothing will change until you realize what is going on. You are where you are now, doing what you are doing because you wanted that way, we cannot condemn anyone for being guilty of your failure, and it is you, and only you, who has let fears seize you.
“Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.” – Dorothy Thompson
Despite this, there is good news, you can reverse the situation, and you can still have the life you ever wanted and be happy. To do this, you must stop believing the story your fears have told you because they always tell you what is going to be wrong instead of telling you what is going to be right if you follow your heart. The problem is they don’t think positively because somehow they want to protect you from any adversity, but what they don’t know is that making you their prisoner only puts you in a place of vulnerability where you are exposed to any adversity. So the best thing you can do is not believe in your fears anymore knowing that what they say is what can go wrong but you know that everything can go great if you choose to follow your heart, and you will prove them wrong.
Everything you ever wanted, every dream, every goal, and every idea is possible, they truly exist somewhere outside your fears. If you want to be happy, if you truly want to enjoy your life, you must silence your fears, that way you avoid giving them the power to create your future. Don’t let them stop you, rather use them as a motivation to demonstrate that they were wrong.
Your life is like a notebook, if you don’t like what you see, turn the page, take your favorite crayons, and make a new drawing! You can create anything you want if you don’t let your fears blind you. Keep moving, keep dreaming, and never stop!
