Be fearlessly authentic!

We live in a world where being a copy is much easier than being authentic because we are always being influenced by the society in which we live that is constantly forcing us to stop being who we really are, so we can become a stereotyped model of perfection.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Nowadays being authentic means you have to fight a hard battle where you will always begin losing, because your adversary has the power to convince you to become a cheap copy of something else which is a far greater power than the one you have to convince yourself to become who you truly are despite external influences.

It requires a lot of courage and strength to be genuine in a world that is constantly trying to make you a copy of someone else. We are constantly being influenced by external factors which are always trying to manipulate our mind making us to feel shame for who we are, what makes us fall in the trap that in order to be successful in life, we should never try to be ourselves, but a cheap replica of the stereotype of successful woman and man imposed by the society in which we live.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

We lack authenticity for we have become what others wanted us to become: a replica of someone else. We have been influenced, forced, and manipulated to follow the rules written by society of “How to be successful being something else except yourself” Our brain has been washed and our mind has been programmed to follow rules. They have given us the keys to be successful, but successful in what? Successful being someone you’re not? Can we succeed not being our true selves?

Well, I guess the answer will depend on your own definition of success, if for you being successful means to become an exact copy of someone else then go ahead and keep following someone else’s rules, but if instead being successful for you means being true to yourself, being whatever you wanted to be and doing all the things you came here to do, no matter what others will think about it, then you should only follow the rules of your heart, they will tell you exactly what to do, those are the rules that will make you truly successful.

“When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see the real you, or what you have been conditioned to believe is you? The two are so, so different. One is an infinite consciousness capable of being and creating whatever it chooses, the other is an illusion imprisoned by its own perceived and programmed limitations.” – David Icke

The problem is we have tried so much to become the person we should become in order to be accepted by others, that we have forgotten our own identity, and so we don’t even know who we really are. We act, we think, we speak, we dress, we eat, and we behave as the rest, lacking originality. We are so concerned about fitting in this society that we have decided to become someone else, leaving our true self aside.

It is not a coincidence that most of the people behave in the same way. We have been programmed like a computer to follow rules. It has been said that in order to be accepted by others we should act in a certain manner and think in a special way, and so we are constantly pretending to be what we are not in order to be accepted, because we have the wrong belief that being successful means being what the society tells you to be.

“You were born an original. Don’t die a copy.” – John Mason

Don’t be afraid to be your true self but be afraid of becoming a cheap imitation of another person. You don’t need to become someone else to be amazing, you are already amazing. You don’t need to have thousands of fans telling you how amazing you are, because you only need just one: Yourself. If you accept yourself and love yourself as you are, you will be free to be whoever you wanted to be regardless if you are accepted by others or not.

In order to be the best version of yourself, you should be original, following the rules of your own heart. You can only be truly successful being your true self; otherwise you will be successful being a copy. There is a difference between wanting to do what someone else has done and wanting to become that person, you can share the same goal but that doesn’t mean you have to become that person in order to achieve it, you can achieve anything you want just being yourself, so stop trying to become someone else, and start being yourself!

Be free, be original, be authentic, be you!

We are our own worst enemy

We are our own worst enemy and most of the time we haven’t even noticed that, because we are too focused on blaming others for our misfortunes, we have the wrong belief that life is our enemy, when in fact our true enemy is oneself.

"We have to learn to be our own best friend because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies." - Roderick Thorp

If you feel that nothing is going right in your life, if you feel that your relationship, your job, career or nothing in your life is going as you wanted, and if you keep pointing fingers to others making them guilty for your failure, thinking that everyone is your enemy, let me tell you something, they are not, or probably they are not your worst enemies, because there is no worst enemy than the one who resides inside yourself.

You are not where you want to be because of you, it is you who is sabotaging your own dreams. No one has the power to control your life but you, because if you truly want something no matter how small or how big if you believe in yourself, you will get it, unless you keep being a victim, letting others take the control of your own destiny.

“Very often we are our own worst enemy as we foolishly build stumbling blocks on the path that leads to success and happiness.” – Louis Binstock

The problem is not that we have an enemy living inside all of us, but the problem itself is that we make it grow day after day with our thoughts and our lack of trust in ourselves, and when the enemy has grown enough, it ceases to be part of us, because in fact becomes us, and when we become our worst enemy, we no longer have the control of our own life, leaving everything to chance, which most of the time is not in our favor.

When we become our worst enemy, we adopt the victim role, so we accuse life and everyone on it for everything that happens to us, we believe that someone else has the fault, and so we blame others, we blame our past, we blame our dad and mom and brothers and sisters and our entire family, we blame the country in where we live, we blame society, we blame our job, our boss, our colleagues, we blame our school, our teachers, we blame everyone except ourselves because it’s easier for us to accept that someone else has the fault rather than to accept that we have the fault of everything because we haven’t done anything to change our life because we know that it will require a lot of strength, commitment, and courage to create whatever we want to create in our life.

“Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.” – Charles Spurgeon

The good news is that life gives you the opportunity to start again, every minute of every hour, you have the opportunity to recreate yourself, and you can decide to stop being your worst enemy and start being your best friend, and you can do this through love, because love is the most wonderful gift we have, love is more powerful than fear, so you can be your worst enemy through fear, insecurities and hate, or you can be your best friend through love what will make you believe in yourself again, giving you the courage, strength and trust you will need to get the life you always wanted, or you can continue being your worst enemy and sabotaging every step of the way to success and blaming others for that.

Remember that you will never get where you want to get if you don’t make peace with yourself, the only way to have the life of your dreams is believing in yourself, and you will never believe in yourself if you are your worst enemy, because you don’t trust your enemies, you trust your friends, so become your best friend, and take back the control of your life, because it’s the only way to change your life, being in control makes you be the creator of your own reality, so you can change your reality at any time you want.

“Make sure your worst enemy doesn’t live between your own two ears.” – Laird Hamilton

Be your worst enemy and listen every day to that inner voice that says: you can’t do it, you are not good enough, you are pathetic, everyone hate you, a happy life is not for you, you are a coward, you are useless, everyone has the fault for your failure, you’re a loser just accept it and live with that! Or my friend, you can become your best friend, and start loving and believing in yourself, knowing that you are capable of doing anything you want in your life, become your best friend and listen to your heart and soul, that will say to you every day: you are amazing, you can do it, don’t worry try again, you deserve better, you have all the potential you need to make your dreams come true, you have the power to start again, you’re a winner!

You can make yourself a winner or a loser, whether you choose, you are responsible! Let love be your guide not fear, and don’t be your worst enemy and sabotage your own life and dreams, be your best friend and change your whole life experience!

Stop complaining and start enjoying life!

One of the reasons why we don’t enjoy life is because we are always complaining, and the act of complaining only makes us to have more and more things to complain about, and life can never be enjoyed if we forget to be happy in the act of complaining too much.

“If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.” – Maya Angelou

We are always complaining no matter the situation:

  • We complain because is winter and it’s too cold and we complain because is summer and it’s too hot.

  • We complain if we don’t have a job because we need more money and we complain if we have a job because the pay is too low, or because we don’t like what we are doing, or because we have to work many hours, or because we don’t like our boss.

  • We complain if we don’t have money and we complain if we have money because it’s not enough.

  • We complain if we can’t find a partner and we complain if we have partner because we want to live as single.

I could just go on and on with the infinite list of thing that humans complain all the time, but I will stop here so we can reflect about our behavior. It seems that there will always be something to complain about, so we have two options:

  1. To focus on the positive side of everything, being grateful for every little thing we have.
  2. To focus on the negative side of everything, complaining about everything we don’t have.

If you choose the first option you will always be happy and you will enjoy life no matter what happens and of course there will be times when you will complain and you will feel frustrated but it won’t last because you will use the most wonderful tool that you have: Gratitude, a tool that can change your life experience in a second and a tool that expresses to the world that you are happy with every aspect of your life even if is not perfect.

If you choose the second option you will always feel frustrated and miserable no matter what happens, because complaining gives us a distorted reality where everything seems to be against us when in fact is us that we are against ourselves. Complaining becomes a habit, a very harmful habit that only leads us to frustration and depression. Complaining only makes you to focus on the negative side of everything, making you unable to enjoy life.

“When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation, or accept it. All else is madness.” – Eckhart Tolle

If we are complaining, we are not being grateful and if we are not grateful for what we already have, how are we going to have more? The truth is that the act of complaining or being grateful is like two powerful magnets; whichever you choose is what you are going to experience in your life day after day.

In order to enjoy life, we should be grateful for everything in our life, and with this I don’t mean that you should settle with the life you have, accepting everything bad that happens to you, what I mean is that we should always go after the things we deserve, but we must be grateful and happy now, because we have everything humans need to survive and be happy everything else is secondary. If we are not able to see the blessings we have now and be happy, we are not going to be happy with more afterwards.

“Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining – it bores everybody else, does you no good, and doesn’t solve any problems.” – Zig Ziglar

If you want to enjoy your life, stop complaining. Free yourself from that negative habit that does you no good. Complaining has never changed anything in a person’s life, but rather gave that person more reasons to complain and be frustrated. The day that you realize how many things you have especially the small and essential things, things that some people are struggling to get, those basic things that we need for our existence, you will realize how blessed you are and you will never complain again in your life.

Age is nothing but a number

Age is nothing but a number, to which we have attached great significance. Somehow we have given more meaning than we should, and so we let a number to control our life. The truth is that age does not define us, or our destiny, because it is not our age that counts, but our attitude.

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.”

As today is my 26th birthday I was thinking about life and age, and how our life is influenced by it. It seems that we have an age for everything, an age to learn and study, and age to have fun, an age to get married, and age to have kids, and age to be successful and an age where you are too old to do anything that you basically die before you are really dead.

We have given age the power to decide for us, it can decide if it’s right for us to do something or not, we base our decisions in our age, what most of the time lead us to make the wrong decision or to decide something according to our age rather than decide according to our feelings and desires and we do this due to the limitations we have put in our minds because of age.

“Don’t just count your years, make your years count.” – George Meredith

Age is a prison created by our society, which has deprived us the freedom to do whatever we want whenever we want. It’s like we are in a race against time, where the age to be free, to be young, happy, have fun, enjoy life, be successful, be beautiful and do whatever we want is very short, so we are pressed to do anything we can, at specific time with a specific age because after that age we become obsolete, and we bury all our dreams and desires together with our happiness and passion for life, and await the day that someone bury us with them.

The truth about age is that it’s an illusion, because we are free to do whatever we love to do whenever we want and above all our dreams don’t have an expiration date and it’s never too early or too late to chase them, and at any given moment we have the power to decide what we want to become and go and do whatever we can to become the person we always wanted to be. Our life is completely under our control, and is not age that controls us, because a number will be just a number if we do not give any power.

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream” – C.S. Lewis

Today I’m 26 years old, for some of you I can be too young for some things and too old for others, the truth is I don’t care about age, today is a day to celebrate because I’m alive, and that is all that matters today, being alive means that I still have the opportunity to do what I love and be happy, because age and situations are not in control of my emotions, I’m the one who is in control, and I know that happiness is something that lies within myself. I’m doing what I love and I always will regardless of my age, because age means nothing to me, my dreams and goals and my love for life is what keep me alive, and even if one day I reach my 100th birthday I will be as alive as I am now, because age will only matter the day I stop adding years to my life, because that moment will mean that I’m dead, and dreams, goals, passions, and everything that you love can only be achieved while you are alive.

The important thing in our life is to know that age is not what matters, because what really matter in our life is our attitude, our faith, commitment and perseverance. Of course our age indicates the passage of time, and so we have more difficulties at certain age, but the key to live our life to the fullest resides in our mind, there is nothing that can stop us to reaching our goals if we believe that everything is possible. Our mind is everything, and we should never let age interfere with us.

“Live your life and forget your age.” – Norman Vincent Peale

Let’s give less importance to age and more importance to our mind and attitude, because we cannot achieve anything and live a happy life if we don’t believe in ourselves. Remember age is just a number so don’t let it control your life, age only indicates that you are alive to keep being happy, having fun, enjoying life, laughing, learning, dreaming, smiling and to keep living your life to the fullest!

Get out of your comfort zone

We make decisions all the time, every new step we make in our life is followed by another new decision we must make, some of those decisions are not going to have any repercussion but some of those decision yes, and there is one decision that can change your whole life: The decision to get out of your comfort zone.

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” – John A. Shedd.

My life was quite the same as everyone else, and as most of the people in this world I was just existing, but one day I was wondering, what if I die tomorrow? Can I say that I have really lived my life? And of course the answer was No, so I decided to leave my comfort zone and move ahead into the unknown, and it was in that unknown place where I found myself. Leaving my comfort zone was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life.

Of course it’s not easy for anyone to leave the place where we feel comfortable and neither was for me, because we are afraid of the unknown and it’s easy for us to settle in a place where everything seems to be alright and under control even if we have the feeling that we don’t belong there. The problem is that we easily get used to be in the comfort zone, because we know that making the decision to get out of it means that we are going to suffer from things we didn’t suffer so far, but let me tell you something, the suffering you will face will be worth it, because that suffering is much more rewarding than the suffering you are facing right now for not living your life as you always wanted.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch

Safety is one thing, dreams are other, if you think you came here to do what people told you to do, and have a normal life, great! Then you are going to live your life as them, and one day you will realize that you haven’t lived at all, because those who decide to stay in the comfort zone are those who have refused to follow their dreams, and those who do not follow their dreams do not live at all. Life has a special meaning for those who dare to leave the comfort zone and go after their dreams.

What I want you to understand is that yes, it is really fantastic to live in the comfort zone, because we have everything we need to survive there, everything is under control, but there is much more out there, waiting for you to make the decision. Once you decide to make the big step to get out of your comfort zone you will start to live, you will find everything you have been looking for and all the doors that were previously closed will open for you.

“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” – Brian Tracy

For me making the decision to leave my country and my comfort zone and travel the world was the best decision I ever made, It wasn’t easy because I struggled a lot in many aspects but it was worth it, because that struggle was the kind of struggle you have when you are doing what you love, so I decided to embrace the struggle every step of the way because it was what motivated me to keep moving forward, because it reminded me that I was following my dreams.

I don’t know what kind of dreams or goals do you have, but no matter how impossible it may look like, if you leave your comfort zone and you do everything you can no matter how hard it gets, you will make it possible. We are here for a reason, our most desired and deepest dream, no matter how small or big, is what gives our life a meaning. There is no better feeling than the one we feel when we reach our goals.

Being fully alive means living outside your comfort zone, it’s the uncertainty of living there that makes everything possible. Take the decision, leave your safety area, dream, explore, take risks and live your life!

What motivates me?

There is one simple question we must ask ourselves: What motivates me?, once you find the answer to that question, you will find the reason of your existence, so you will finally know why are you here and what is your mission on this planet.

Motivation is the key to success

I really believe that every human on earth is here for a reason, the trick is to find it. The best way to know what is our purpose in this life is by knowing what really motivates us. Motivation is what causes us to act in a specific way at a particular time and can be influenced by different factors that can be internal or external, so our motivations will determine our behaviors, and our behaviors will determine our future.

What is really important is that we must find what really motivates us to do something, because if those motivations are based in obligations created by external factors, we will feel frustrated even if we have achieved the goals imposed by those factors. And the reason why we feel frustrated is because we haven’t fulfilled our most desired goals, because we have allowed fear to interfere with our dreams, and when we do that, we let fear be our motivation, so we act according to our fears, letting them to control us, what makes us to go in the opposite direction of our goals and dreams. The only way to avoid this is by believing that our dreams are bigger than any fear, so we will use fear as a motivation rather than using fear as an excuse.

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain

We must find what really motivates us in our life and what really motivates us to live our life and not only to exist are those things based in our true self. Those motivations that have been influenced by our deepest desires are those who are going to make us to be the best version of ourselves so we can make our dreams a reality, and that is the only way to live a happy and fulfilled life.

The trick to find our true motivation in life is to listen to our heart, so you can know what you truly want to become, and once you know that, from now on your motivations will be based in your true desires, what will make you to act in a certain way at every moment to achieve those desires. Once you find what really motivates you, stick to it and never let it go, because that motivation will make you to do whatever you can to reach your goals, and you will transform what it was impossible into possible.

“To succeed, you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” – Tony Dorsett

What I want you to understand is that you must find those things that motivates you to be the person you always wanted to be, and the only way to do that is to listen the call from your soul and follow your heart at any time. It’s not going to be easy but it’s going to be worth it, because there is nothing that can give us more happiness than doing what we came here to do. So every time you are doing something always ask yourself why? Why am I doing this? What motivates me? Are those motivations influenced by my deepest desires or are those motivations based in someone else’s dreams?

I truly believe that those in which their actions are based in their deepest desires are those who live life to the fullest, because I think nothing is impossible for those who find what really motivates them in their lives and follow their hearts every step of the way. Those people never give up against adversity, because their motivations are also influenced by fears and doubts, what makes them to keep going forward because their desires and dreams are greater that their fears. Those people are motivated by their biggest dreams and not only motivated by simple goals, and when your motivation is influenced by the need to realize your dreams, is when you reach your full potential, and you fulfill you deepest goals and desires.

Find what motivates you, because that is the spark that will ignite the engine that will push you forward in your life and what will make you be the greatest version of yourself, and all your dreams will be a reality and you will have a happy and fulfilled life.

Be careful of your thoughts

Be careful of your thoughts, they control your life, as they have all the power to create your reality. What you see in your life it’s merely a set of thoughts, and that is why people have different realities. Your reality is the product of your thinking.

"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts." - Marcus Aurelius

We are thinking all the time, and how we feel in that moment depends in what is in our mind in that particular moment. Our thoughts can be positive or negative, but never both at the same time, what is going to give us our emotions, and our reality. So how you feel will be the result of what you were thinking. Remember that your thoughts have the power to control your emotions. So you will find that the key to control your emotions lies in your thoughts, if you want to change your reality, change the way you are thinking.

We can divide our thoughts in positive and negative thoughts, where our positive thoughts are those that make us feel good like thoughts of happiness, joy or gratitude, and then we have our negative thoughts that make us feel bad like sadness, anxiety or fear. So we can feel happy or we can feel sad, the choice is made by us depending in our thoughts, if you have positive thoughts you will feel happy, if you have negative thoughts you will feel miserable.

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” – Peace Pilgrim

Everything is connected; your thoughts give you your emotions and feelings, what will form your behavior, and what will give your reality. So, to change our life experience, we must change our thinking, we must choose those thoughts based in positive things, so we can have better feelings and good emotions, what will make us to have a better behavior, what will give us a reality full of happiness and joy.

It takes only one thought to change everything, one different thought and you will not only change how you feel in a particular moment, but you will change your whole life experience. It takes only one positive thought to go from sadness to happiness; you just have to say to yourself that no matter what is happening right now, this is not the end, and you will be happy, because you deserve it.

“A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” – Mahatma Gandhi

I can say from my own experience that this is not something easy to do, but I can also say that is possible. What we have to do is to control our thoughts, and not let our thoughts to control us, and the easiest way is to open our perspective, so we can see everything in a different way, and understand that what is happening to us is happening for a reason, a reason we must learn to comprehend, so we can learn to see the positive side of it, a positive side that is sometimes hard to see because of our limited perspective.

We must be aware of the power of our thoughts, so we can control it, especially the negative thoughts, otherwise it will control us and it will destroy us. The day we learn how to control our thoughts, we will be capable of choosing a positive thought rather than a negative thought, and so we will decide to be happy at every moment rather than be sad needlessly.

“Your worst enemy cannot harm you as much as your own unguarded thoughts.” – Buddha

Always remember that your thoughts creates your reality, whatever you are thinking right now is what you are going to experience in your life. The negative thoughts will give you negative feelings, what will give you unfortunate situations, and everything around will seem to be against you, when in fact, is you the one who are against yourself, because you have chosen to have negative thoughts, negative emotions and negative behaviors what gave you your miserable and awful reality. But if you choose positive thoughts, you will have positive emotions and positive behaviors that will give you happy situations what is going to make you feel happy about your life because your reality will be amazing.

Look around you, if you can only see a miserable life, look again, there is always something to be happy for no matter what you are going through, take the negative thoughts away from your mind, and flood your mind with positive thoughts and you will see what you couldn’t see so far.

Are you doing what you love?

Do what you love

Are you doing what you love? If the answer is no, what are you waiting for? Our days on earth are counted, our time is limited, not knowing how many days we have left on this planet has given us the wrong idea that we have time, but the truth is that we waste most of our time on earth doing what we don’t like, leaving the things we love for another day, a day that never comes.

“And then there is the most dangerous risk of all: the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.” – Randy Komisar

One day less means one day closer to our grave, it’s hard think it that way, but that is a fact, everyone is going to die someday, and you can’t do anything when you are dead, what you do while you are alive with your time on earth is what counts. The good thing about our life and our time on earth, is that even though is limited, we have the chance to choose either to use it for things we love or choose to waste every second of our life in doing things we don’t want.

Of course, there will be times when our only option is to do what we do not like, but that doesn’t mean that you have to spend the rest of your life doing something you don’t want to, what really means is that sometimes you have to do what you don’t want, in order to do what you love. We have the chance to decide what to do with our own life, and doing what we love is the only way to live a happy and fulfilled life.

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

We think we have time, so we decided to waste most of our precious time doing what we don’t want, thinking that some day we will be able to do the things we really love, and our days keep passing, and we keep staying in the same place, doing what we don’t want, wishing to be able to claim later our freedom.

The fact is that most of the people leave this world without having done the things they always wanted, They have spent their time in someone else’s life, being slaves and builders of the dreams of someone else, forgetting to invest time in their lives. So most of the people realize that they have wasted their time the day they don’t have any more time to do the things they love.

“One day you will wake up & there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” – Paulo Coelho

So if we could be able to know when we are going to die, we would change the way we are living. Think about it this way: if we could know the days we have left on earth, let’s say we know we have 365 days, we would still doing the things we are doing? Or we would change the way we are living? I can bet that most of us would change everything, and we would start doing things we always wanted to do. We’ll begin to truly live, every second, every minute and every hour of our life.

“The trouble is you think you have time.” – Buddha

So, are you doing what you love? No? So why don’t you start right now? As I said, we have the power to change our life in a second, and we are free to do with our life anything we want. We didn’t come to this world to just exist, we came here to live, and we came here to be the best version of ourselves. So stop waiting for the weekend to live, stop waiting for a special occasion to celebrate, stop waiting for your two or three weeks of vacation to live and be happy, and for Christ Sake, stop wasting your time doing things you don’t want, the time to do the things you always wanted is now, don’t leave it for tomorrow, there could be no tomorrow. Remove the words “I don’t have time” or “I can’t” from your mouth, there is time and you can do it, because the only time when you don’t have time and you can’t do something is the day you are in the graveyard, until then you are free to do what you want.

It’s easy to say, you might think, but yes it’s easy to say because it’s easy to do, as Jim Rohn said: “If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.”

Find your inner child

Find your inner child, and you will find yourself again. Go back to those times where everything seemed to be possible, those times where you could become whatever you wanted, those times where you could just be yourself.

“When childhood dies, its corpses are called adults and they enter society, one of the politer names of hell.  That is why we dread children, even if we love them, they show us the state of our decay.”

Brian Aldiss

Somehow we have mixed up the meaning of being a child, we gave to that word the meaning of being immature, not fully grown or emotionally undeveloped, and so when someone acts like a child, we say that he is a very immature person. But then I ask myself, every bad behavior which is realized day by day by humans against the world and every being around them, it is not an immature behavior?

The humans, especially those who are considered to be very mature, are the one who are destroying everything and everyone around them, even though they have been blessed with a beautiful world, a magnificent body with a wonderful mind with the power to create everything they want, but which they not used to create but to destroy, it is this a mature behavior?

“Children have neither past nor future; they enjoy the present, which very few of us do.” – Jean de la Bruyere

The adults, those considered mature, are those who are constantly competing with each other, fighting with each other and those who are killing to each other, those people have forgotten the most important values as love, compassion, understanding, kindness, companionship and so on. And they have forgotten all that, because they have become a selfish person, they have become people who are only concerned with their own affairs.

When you grow up and become an adult, leaving the child behind, condemning the child spirit inside you to a death sentence, that’s when most of your dreams die, and that’s when part of your true self dies too, becoming your worst enemy. When you cease to be a child, you become vulnerable to all evil in this world, evil disguised as happiness, and so you let other adults who are also brainwashed by evil, to tell you what should you become in life, and what you should achieve either money, power, fame, material things and other nonsense.

“Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.” – Deepak Chopra

So I prefer to be like a child rather than an adult whose brain has been washed, I prefer the innocence of a child, a child who laugh just because he can, a child with creativity and imagination, a child who dreams, a child that believe that he can do anything in the world, a child who believe that he can be a superhero and help people, a child full of joy and love, a child that can see the beauty in the small things, a child who is happy for no reason, a child who can love even those things that are product of his imagination, a child who has friends no matter where they come from, a child who doesn’t discriminate others for their religion or race, a child who doesn’t know how to hate, a child who loves truly, and who is always loyal to that love without any kind of interest, selfishness, limitations or expectations.

“Hold the hand of the child that lives in your soul. For this child, nothing is impossible.” – Paulo Coelho

A child is an angel, who has become a puppet due to the environment where he was born, an environment which has taught him how to become a person with no dreams, no imagination, no hope, no happiness and no love.

It is time for all adults in this world find their inner child, that child who can make you be yourself again, who can bring you joy, happiness, hope and love, that child who will make you dream again, and will make you believe that everything is possible, that magic and miracles actually exist, so find you inner child, the one will make you a happy person again for no reason, a person who is grateful, specially for the small and more important things in this world, so find your inner child, play, laugh, have fun, enjoy life, be happy, dream, smile and live your life again.

“What a distressing contrast there is between the radiant intelligence of the child and the feeble mentality of the average adult.”

Sigmund Freud

Why do we care about what others think?

Why do we care about what others think? The answer to that question is very simple: We are looking to be accepted all the time, the fear of being rejected scare us to a point where we forget who we are by being what we are not, a prefabricated product created by society.

The greates prison people live in is the fear of what other people think.

We are looking for acceptance all the time, dominated by the fear for what other people think about us, we act based in what is right for people, and not what is right for us. All the time we act according to what is best for others in that moment, because the fear controls our actions all the time, so we lose the control of everything, and the worst thing is that we lose ourselves.

It doesn’t matter by whom, but we are always looking to be accepted by someone, because by being accepted by other, we can accept ourselves.

“If you live for people’s acceptance you will die from their rejection” – Lecrae

And there my friend is where we can find the beginning of this problem:

If we don’t accept ourselves first, how is another person going to accept us as we really are?

We need to accept ourselves as we are, and that includes everything, also our imperfections, we need to love ourselves and be happy for who we are. And what I want to say here is that is totally right to want to improve ourselves, and wish to be better and better person, but only if that change we want to accomplish is inspired by us for us, and not in order to please someone else.

Once we accept ourselves as we are, and decide who we want to be, without being influenced by someone else, then we will feel accepted everywhere, and maybe not by others, but we will always feel accepted by ourselves, feeling free to think, to say, and to do whatever we want without being afraid to what other people will think about us.

“Care what other people think and you will always be their prisoner” – Lao Tzu

Once you know what kind of person you are, and what kind of person you want to become in your life, you will not be afraid to others opinion about you anymore, because you know yourself, you know who you are, what you can give, what you can do, what you can achieve and you love yourself just the way you are, so you will set yourself free from any unnecessary pain as you will never be damaged again by the opinions of other people.

“The unhappiest people in this world are those who care the most about what other people think.” – C. JoyBell C.

Remember that the opinions of others are mostly generated from people who don’t believe in themselves, and who don’t accept them as they are, people who feel insecure and unsatisfied, people who are always looking to fit in this world by being someone else.

Losing our fear to what other people think about us, will set us free to be whatever we want to be in our life, we’ll be no longer a slave, freeing us from the chain that society has imposed, and we will not fear any more, walking with confidence, and acting in every second of our life according to what fit with our true personality.

“What other people think of you is not your business. If you start to make that business your business, you will be offended for the rest of your life.” – Deepak Chopra

Life could be amazing if we could just love ourselves for who we are, without being someone to please others. You came to this world to be whatever you want to be, you don’t come here to please your family, your friends, the society in which you live, your boss, your colleagues at work, and nobody, you come here to be who you really are, and give to the world the best you can.

So release yourself and stop being a slave from what other people think, accept yourself as you are, improve and get better every day, do whatever it takes to become who you want to be in order to achieve what you want to achieve, just because you have the power to do that and just to please the purpose of your soul.

“Don’t take anything personally; nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering” – Miguel Ruiz

Life is too short to worry about others opinion about you, those are their opinions and not yours anyway, right? Our time on this planet is limited, our days are counted, day after day, second after second, so why wasting our precious time by being what other people want us to be? It is you and only you who will live your life, so you better do what you love, think and feel freely as you please, say whatever you want to say, to whomever you want, whenever you want it, because as I said before, time is limited, and we are running out of time.

Live your life and be the best version of yourself and not being the best version for someone else, do everything you want, without fear of the opinions of others and you will be free.
