The Power of a Compliment

Normally we ignore the power of a compliment, not knowing how deep and magical a simple compliment can be. Unfortunately the act of praising is easily forgotten in the chaos of our daily life. The truth is that a single kind word, a simple, genuine and unexpected compliment can change a person’s day.

"A compliment is verbal sunshine." - Robert Orben

A single compliment is like a caress for the soul. It can bring joy, strength and courage to human souls. To give someone else a compliment is a way to recognize another person for something in particular, and it is a way to show others love and kindness, what always generate a good impact in someone else’s life and never the opposite. Think about it this way, most of us have received a compliment at least once in our lives. Do you remember how you felt when that happened? It feels great, isn’t it?

That’s the power of a compliment; it always makes someone happier and not the opposite. A compliment can make someone else’s day, and if we can make someone happy, why wouldn’t we? But for a compliment to be effective, it must meet the following requirements: It has to be kind, show respect, be genuine and be totally honest otherwise the effect will be the opposite. After all, a compliment is a kind and sincere word expressed by a person to praise, to lift and to make other person happy.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia

If you haven’t figured out yet, I’m not only talking about compliments that focus on someone else’s appearance, but I’m talking about those compliments that focus in something much deeper and essential as the spirit, behaviors and attitudes of human beings. In a world where superficiality wins, is great to be recognized by doing things right. Every small word of kindness is always appreciated and the impact can be greater than expected.

On the other hand, a compliment is not only beneficial for the other person but for you as well, because as you already might know: what goes around comes around. If you have the habit to give compliments, you are very likely to be the person who will also receive compliments. There is also another benefit you will receive by giving others a compliment, what can generate an impact in your life. That benefit is the reward you get from praising others for a job well done, because when you give a compliment for it, you encourage that person, and it is very sure that person will continue or even improve on doing something.

“Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.” – Blaise Pascal

For instance, if one of your employees has done a good job, and you recognize the effort, telling a few kind words like – Well done today! How do you think that person is going to feel? And how do you think it will act in the future? Definitely the result of those simple words will create a huge impact. The person will appreciate those words and will feel good about it, what will act as a motivation to keep the good work. The reward for you will be to have a happy employee who will keep the good work. The same example acts for everything, parents with their children, relationships between couples, or siblings, or friends, colleagues, employees and customers, and with everyone you surround yourself with. If you give sincere compliments to people around you, it will generate a positive impact in their lives and yours as well.

That’s what I have experienced many times, for example, one day I was working as a waitress for a special event in a Hotel, there were more than 400 people and my colleagues and managers were more stressed than ever, the work was hard and tiring, and after a several hours I began to feel fatigue all over my body, but that didn’t erase my smile from my face, but I was indeed tired, and I desperately needed some peace of mind. When everything finished and every guest was leaving, an old man came and said to me – Thank you for tonight, you have done a great job! I know this is hard work and I hope you get some kind of reward for it, and he left. What he didn’t know was that his own compliment was a reward to me. He made me feel that all the hard work was worth it, what motivated me to keep doing a good job.

A single compliment can be simple words for you, but huge words for someone else. A compliment it is a gift you give to another and it can mean nothing to you but a lot for someone else. Therefore, do not underestimate the power of a compliment. Do not let a day pass without giving someone else a sincere compliment, no matter how big or small, you may not know it, but you can brighten someone else’s day!

Discovering your life’s purpose

Discovering your life’s purpose is not a simple thing but it’s the most important thing in your life, without a purpose, we merely exist. It is discovering the reason why we are here what gives life a meaning, and is living with a purpose what makes life much more interesting and challenging.

How you ever wonder why you are here? How you ever wonder if what you are doing right now is what you came here to do? Because if what you are doing now makes you feel dead inside is because that thing you are doing now is not your purpose, it is not the reason why you are here, because your purpose is what makes you feel alive; your purpose is what gives you joy and happiness, your purpose is what gives your life a meaning.

Wouldn’t be ironic to go through the complicated, sophisticated and miraculous birth process to come to this world just to be dead? Aren’t we supposed to come to this world to live or we came here to be dead? Because most of the people are afraid of death, not knowing that they are already dead inside while their bodies are still alive. The increasing amount of people with depression, anxiety, stress and other mental disorders as well as the increasing amount of suicides worldwide are an indicative that our perspective about life and the reasons of our existence are wrong.

“The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.” – Fyodor Dostoyevsky

It seems that when we are kids we know what we would like to become, or at least we dare to dream, and we dare to dream big. When you are a kid everything is possible, but sooner or later that concept is snatched from you, and everything you once believed, all your dreams and desires along with your true self are killed and buried and you become a product of this decadent society.

What would you like to be when you grow up? – My God, if I heard that question when I was a child! I never understood why adults would ask that question if what they only want to hear are things like: I want to be a lawyer just like my Dad! Or I want to be an engineer! Because if you tell them: I want to be a singer! Or I want to be a superhero and save the world! Or I want to become a veterinary and save all the animals! Or I want to become an astronaut! People will usually say something like this: But you won’t earn any money doing that! Or that’s impossible! Or you can’t do that!

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Steve Maraboli

The truth is when we become adults we stop believing and we start doing what is best for our family, friends and so on and we do everything we can to fit in this society that slowly kills us inside and we live or in better words we simple exist for the rest of our lives, doing what we don’t want to do, depriving ourselves from our true purpose. The funny thing is we go through life seeking happiness, but we don’t even wonder why are we here, and how in the world can we be absolutely happy if we are not doing what we came here to do?

Discovering your life’s purpose should be your main goal, not money, the car, the house, and other material things, nor fame, nor power. Those things can follow or not, but those things should be absolutely secondary for you. Once you discover your life’s purpose, and you do what you came to do, everything that is good for you will come to you without calling it.

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Discovering your life’s purpose is not easy, because it requires leaving your comfort zone. To know who you are and why you are really here you must ask questions you have never asked before, you must leave that comfort place where everything is known to enter in that awkward and unknown place where you wonder and doubt everything about your life, and that can be sometimes painful as you will know how unconscious and dead you were, but in the end you will find happiness, peace and joy you have yearned for, and you will know what means to be truly alive.

We are not in this world by accident, we are here for a reason, and finding that reason is the key to live a happy and successful life. If we fail to find that reason, if we avoid finding that purpose, our life becomes an obligation, we become slaves of a miserable life and our daily life becomes our punishment until we are finally released from our pain through the process of death.

Find the reason why you are here and your whole life will have a different meaning. It is a wonderful experience to enjoy life being truly alive!

The Reflection of a Desperate Soul

The reflection of a desperate soul is a short story about a woman who was lost, but who found her true self. It is a story that reflects what is happening to most of the people in our society. Nowadays most of the people are trying to be someone else, trying to be what other people want them to be, forgetting to be themselves. People just exist but they don’t truly live, that’s why there is so much pain and sadness in people’s hearts. So here goes the story…

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“The reflection of a desperate soul”

It was 5.45 pm on a Tuesday afternoon; it was another common day for a normal woman. She was counting the minutes to get out of the office, or the cell how she used to call it. Finally, she left her prison’s cell to get into the concrete jungle, and as it was the rush hour, the madness was higher than usual. She took her bike as fast as she could and at full speed she headed home.

The concrete jungle was full of ghosts with empty souls, the view was horrific, but she knew a shortcut. She went back home through the secret paradise, which was a lake full of ducks, swans, birds and other different species perfectly hidden in the middle of the city, or the concrete jungle as she used to call it. She usually stopped every day to admire the view for a couple of minutes before going back home, because somehow she always felt some kind of peace while doing it, and as another normal day, she arrived to the lake, got down the bike and went to admire the view, not knowing that her life was about to change forever.

She was watching the animals when suddenly she saw herself reflected in the lake – Who am I? Why am I here? She wondered – She saw her reflection, but couldn’t recognize herself anymore. She always followed the rules, and always did everything she was supposed to do to please her family, friends, and the entire society. But she could see in her reflection her sad and empty eyes that seemed to scream for help, and she realized that she has never been herself, her inner emptiness reflected in her lifeless pale face and in her sad eyes confirmed it. She had forgotten what it was to be a little girl full of joy, dreams and happiness, she had stopped playing with dolls and puppets, and what was worse, she had become one of them, and the ones who were playing were others.

It was in that moment when she realized how lost she was, she never had time to look into her eyes, and reflect about her own miserable reflection. Her soul was empty and her heart seemed to have no pulse, she was a dead body, a ghost, a puppet, a programmed machine of society, she was everything, except herself. And she asked herself one more time – Who are you? Who have you become? – And then anger seized her. She was furious with herself, she was looking at her own reflection with disgust and repulsion, and in that moment of anger and confusion, while looking at her own pathetic reflection in the lake, she fell straight into the water, feelings of sadness and sorrow pierced her body. She stayed there floating on the water, feeling completely lost. She laid down on the lake watching the sky, and said to herself – This is it, I’m lost, I have no way out, I’m a puppet of this society, I don’t even know who I am anymore, I’m just the broken pieces of something I used to be, I have no purpose, no life, I’m not myself, I’m nothing – And she let her body sink into the depths of the lake as she watched the sky.

Suddenly while she was drowning, she saw a beautiful bird with its open wings, flying in the blue sky, she could not help staring at it with a smile on her face, because that bird reminded her about something she had lost many years ago, and that thing was freedom, freedom to be and to do whatever she wanted, freedom to go wherever she wanted, freedom to fly, to travel, to dream. And then after a few seconds she closed her eyes, and in the middle of that reflection and absolute relax, she forgot about the water going through her body, and because of this, she was about to give her last breath when she felt like someone was pushing her back to the surface, when she got there, she opened her eyes, and she saw everything in a completely different way, everything had changed, or in fact, she has changed. And as fast as she could, she got out of the lake and screamed – Freedom! I am free! – She had finally broken the heavy chains that were sinking her. The contact with her own reflection and her inner strength inspired by a divine miracle had opened her eyes, and so she found freedom, she found herself. With all that happiness and joy that gave life to her soul she ran like never before and went back to her home.

On the next day, she felt like she was born again, she realized that in order to be alive, she should be free to do the things she loves and be the person she always wanted to be. And she started living her life again, being her true self. She stopped being a puppet of the society, and far from it, she began to be her true self. And now being herself, being free again, she went out to follow her dreams, and lived her life with love, freedom and passion.

Finding Yourself

I hope you liked the reflection of a desperate soul, it is a story about losing and finding yourself, it’s a story about being free, free to be who you want to be and do whatever you want to do, freedom to go where we want, freedom to follow our heart and dreams. Freedom to choose our own path.

Sometimes in order to find yourself you must feel completely lost at first, because it is in those moments of absolute chaos, when you feel completely lost when you find yourself and with that you find freedom. Knowing who you are and be it, without worrying about what others may think of you means to be truly alive, because when you know who you are, you know why you are here, and discovering your life’s purpose is the key to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Let’s find ourselves, and recover our freedom!

Nourishing Your Mind With Positive Thoughts

We are what we eat and so it is with our mind: we are what we think, depending on how you feed your mind, is what you are going to experience in your life. You can have a positive mind or you can have a negative mind, what makes the difference between one and the other is the choice you make when you feed it and what you decide to consume every day.

"If it doesn't nourish your soul, get rid of it."

What we eat and drink through our mouth on a daily basis has consequences in our body, either short-term or long-term:

  • We can eat spoiled food and feel sick right away or after a few days, or we can get very sick after eating unhealthy food on a daily basis for a long period of time.
  • We can also eat fresh food one day and feel great, or we can eat healthy food daily for a long period of time and feel better and better every day.

Well, with the mind is exactly the same, what we consume on a daily basis through our eyes and ears has consequences in our mind, heart and spirit, either short-term or long-term:

  • We can consume negativity either hearing or watching a self-destructive situation and feel bad right away or after a few days, or we can get very sad and depressed after having consumed negativity for a long period of time in our lives.
  • We can also consume positivity one day and feel awesome, or we can consume positivity on a daily basis for a long period of time and feel happier every day.

“There are realities we all share, regardless of our nationality, language, or individual tastes. As we need food, so do we need emotional nourishment: love, kindness, appreciation, and support from others.” – J. Donald Walters

Nourishing your mind with positive thoughts, it is as important as nourishing your body with fresh and healthy food, because if we fail to nourish our mind with positive thoughts, affirmations and beliefs, we put in danger our whole existence on this planet, and not because we run the risk dying, because that is something we cannot avoid, but because we run the risk of not having truly lived while we could, and you can never truly live if you carry a negative mind through your lifetime.

In order to nourish your mind, it is necessary avoiding contaminating your spirit with negativity. It can seem harmless, but most of the time it is not. Any negativity you consume every day, regardless of the amount, can have a huge impact in your mind, and if you are not aware of it, you will consume it day after day without realizing the damage that is causing you, and the result will be catastrophic, it will take over your mind, and it will rule your life and you will suffer from all the side effects: depression, sadness, anger and anguish.

Don’t feed your mind with negative thoughts. If you do, you will come to believe them.” – Catherine Pulsifer.

Would you go now to the kitchen and eat rotten food for dinner? I guess no, right? Because it will make you feel bad, and you will probably have diarrhea, nausea, fever and you will have to call somebody for help. So, why you read those magazines that poison your mind, and gives you wrong belief about yourself and your life, making you feel miserable? Or why you keep watching that TV show that plants seeds of hatred, wickedness and sadness in your mind? Or why you keep hanging out with those people whom only take out the worst of people included yourself, people whom only speak the language of hate, hopelessness, gossip, racism and evil? Or why you keep wasting your time consuming all the rubbish you see and hear in a TV show, a movie, in a song, or the rubbish you keep reading in Facebook, magazines, and books that only drains the happiness of your heart? If you don’t eat rotten food because it will make you sick, why do you consume all that rubbish that makes you feel bad?

If you feel happy, if you have the life of your dreams, if everything you consume is giving you happiness and peace, keep going that way then, but if you are not, you need to change your diet, and with that I mean what you watch and hear on a daily basis, even if you think that is not making you any damage, because it is probably affecting you in a way or another, as I said before we are what we think and believe, and those beliefs create our behavior, which gives us our perspective and our reality.

If you want to be happy, nourish your mind and soul with positive thoughts, and get rid of all the negativity around you. If you have positive thoughts about you and your life, it will give you positive feelings, and if you have positive feelings, your behavior will be positive, and so your entire reality will be much more positive.

We are our own worst enemy

We are our own worst enemy and most of the time we haven’t even noticed that, because we are too focused on blaming others for our misfortunes, we have the wrong belief that life is our enemy, when in fact our true enemy is oneself.

"We have to learn to be our own best friend because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies." - Roderick Thorp

If you feel that nothing is going right in your life, if you feel that your relationship, your job, career or nothing in your life is going as you wanted, and if you keep pointing fingers to others making them guilty for your failure, thinking that everyone is your enemy, let me tell you something, they are not, or probably they are not your worst enemies, because there is no worst enemy than the one who resides inside yourself.

You are not where you want to be because of you, it is you who is sabotaging your own dreams. No one has the power to control your life but you, because if you truly want something no matter how small or how big if you believe in yourself, you will get it, unless you keep being a victim, letting others take the control of your own destiny.

“Very often we are our own worst enemy as we foolishly build stumbling blocks on the path that leads to success and happiness.” – Louis Binstock

The problem is not that we have an enemy living inside all of us, but the problem itself is that we make it grow day after day with our thoughts and our lack of trust in ourselves, and when the enemy has grown enough, it ceases to be part of us, because in fact becomes us, and when we become our worst enemy, we no longer have the control of our own life, leaving everything to chance, which most of the time is not in our favor.

When we become our worst enemy, we adopt the victim role, so we accuse life and everyone on it for everything that happens to us, we believe that someone else has the fault, and so we blame others, we blame our past, we blame our dad and mom and brothers and sisters and our entire family, we blame the country in where we live, we blame society, we blame our job, our boss, our colleagues, we blame our school, our teachers, we blame everyone except ourselves because it’s easier for us to accept that someone else has the fault rather than to accept that we have the fault of everything because we haven’t done anything to change our life because we know that it will require a lot of strength, commitment, and courage to create whatever we want to create in our life.

“Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.” – Charles Spurgeon

The good news is that life gives you the opportunity to start again, every minute of every hour, you have the opportunity to recreate yourself, and you can decide to stop being your worst enemy and start being your best friend, and you can do this through love, because love is the most wonderful gift we have, love is more powerful than fear, so you can be your worst enemy through fear, insecurities and hate, or you can be your best friend through love what will make you believe in yourself again, giving you the courage, strength and trust you will need to get the life you always wanted, or you can continue being your worst enemy and sabotaging every step of the way to success and blaming others for that.

Remember that you will never get where you want to get if you don’t make peace with yourself, the only way to have the life of your dreams is believing in yourself, and you will never believe in yourself if you are your worst enemy, because you don’t trust your enemies, you trust your friends, so become your best friend, and take back the control of your life, because it’s the only way to change your life, being in control makes you be the creator of your own reality, so you can change your reality at any time you want.

“Make sure your worst enemy doesn’t live between your own two ears.” – Laird Hamilton

Be your worst enemy and listen every day to that inner voice that says: you can’t do it, you are not good enough, you are pathetic, everyone hate you, a happy life is not for you, you are a coward, you are useless, everyone has the fault for your failure, you’re a loser just accept it and live with that! Or my friend, you can become your best friend, and start loving and believing in yourself, knowing that you are capable of doing anything you want in your life, become your best friend and listen to your heart and soul, that will say to you every day: you are amazing, you can do it, don’t worry try again, you deserve better, you have all the potential you need to make your dreams come true, you have the power to start again, you’re a winner!

You can make yourself a winner or a loser, whether you choose, you are responsible! Let love be your guide not fear, and don’t be your worst enemy and sabotage your own life and dreams, be your best friend and change your whole life experience!

Superficial World

We are living in a superficial world where having a life and an appearance that looks good on the outside has become more important than looking good on the inside. We are more concerned about our external appearance that we forgot to pay attention to the kind of person we have become, a person who has forgotten that we are not just a body, but we are a soul which has body.

If the whole world was blind, how many people would you impress?

Relationship between humans have entered into a decay with almost no return, and why? Because we have changed our priceless values that we have as human beings for cheap rubbish, that has consumed our soul and spirit, forgetting what is really important, moving away from the path and losing control of our own lives.

Looking good and having a lot of material things have become the most important motive for our lives, we no longer focus in what kind of person we are, we don’t care anymore if we are a being of love, compassion, understanding or kindness, we don’t care anymore how we treat others as persons, because we don’t care how we treat ourselves, and if we do things to nourish our soul or not, we don’t care about anything of that, because we spend our time in making our external life to look good, and be accepted by others.

“Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.” – Oscar Wilde

So what do we care if we don’t care anymore about our soul and our values? We care about how our image is viewed by society. We care about having the best clothes, the bigger the logo of the brand in our clothes the better, we care about having the more expensive house, car, mobile phone, television, and all the material things that have given us a wrong idea of happiness, we care about to have a great body and to be the most beautiful, we care about our makeup, hair, nails, we care about the tanning, we care about the new and absurd diet, we care about to have lots and lots of money, we care about being famous, about having power, and so on, an infinite list of stupid things created by those who dominate the world to entertain our minds and make us ignorant, so they can become more powerful, rich and do whatever they want with the world and every person on it.

The relationships between humans are a disaster, all the human values are in danger of extinction, humans are worried in their own businesses, and they don’t care what is going on with the person next to them, the world is dying thanks to us, there are people who have been forgotten by us, dying in agony, screaming for help, and crying in solitude, people whom nobody cares, because those people are too worried in getting more money, more power, more material things, more beauty, and more stupidity, so they don’t have time to help others, and some of them if they do that is only because they are looking recognition.

“I wish everybody could get rich and famous and have everything they ever dreamed of, so they would know that’s not the answer.” – Jim Carrey

So yes, this is a superficial world, where people are only worried about external matters, and when you are only focused on external matters, you forget to pay attention to the internal matters, and that can only lead us to a disaster, a disaster that you can see everywhere. Parents who are only focused in their jobs, their money, their house, their cars, parents that have forgotten about values, parents who are raising their kids with material things, and parents who want their kids to have a life and an image that only looks good on their outside, but they don’t see that their kids are growing with no values, no appreciation for life, for nature, or for other human beings.

There are also couples in a relationship that are more worried to be a couple who looks perfect in a photograph for social media, rather than being worried about being a couple who really love each other in every moment, day after day, those people in this relationship are more worried in their appearance, rather than being worried in being honest, loyal, and unconditional among them. People at work who are only worried about being the best, about getting more money, those people don’t care if they have to destroy another one to be successful. Friends who are friends in the good moments, but friends who disappear in the bad ones, friends who seems to be friends, but when comes the time to be happy for the success of the other one, they stab you in the back, while they smile you in your face, just because the jealousy within them consumed their heart.

“Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.” – Sophia Loren

So I could just go on forever with this examples that shows that people are more concerned about external things while they don’t care about what kind of person are on the inside, I’m not saying we should not worry about getting better, or getting more money to get what we want, or getting a better job, or a better house, or car, or whatever, I’m not saying that we don’t have to try to look more beautiful, I’m not saying that we shouldn’t try to be successful in every aspect of our life, what I’m saying here is that we should prioritize our soul and spirit first, we should try to be better person, we should try to first love ourselves as we are right now with our perfections and imperfections, and we should try to be more kind, more tolerant, or to be more understanding, we should try to be more concerned about giving others what we want to receive, we should try to love each other more and then afterwards we should try to get all the material, recognition, power, or whatever you want in your life.

If we could try to look good in the inside first, and become a better person, every relationship between human would be less fake and more real, our love would be less fake and more real and pure, and then our life would be much better.

What you can give to this world as human being to make it a better place for you and others, to make it a place of love and peace, is the most important thing, all else is secondary.

We are all one

We are all one, and the separation between humans, created by us, is what made dehumanization something possible. The fact is that we are all human beings, and we all deserve the same rights, regardless of where you belong.

We are all one, we are the same breed, we are not separated from each other, we are part of something, and even though we can be an individualization of something bigger, at the end we are all the same, we came to this world in the same way, as we were created in the same way.

Somehow we have created an illusion, we have created an unreal catalogue, where all the human beings on earth have been categorized and so separated from each other, and when you are separated from anything else, you are also separated from yourself, then you are not yourself anymore, and you start to be what someone else wanted you to be.

“Our separation from each other is an optical illusion.” – Albert Einstein

So we are separated from each other, and so we are separate from our own self as well, for what we lose any right to think, believe, speak, feel, and do whatever we want. We become a product of our own separation, you think, speak and act according to which category you belong in this absurd catalogue created by humans for humans.

The worst atrocities carried out, and those that still happen every day are possible because we have been separated from each other, what gave us the wrong belief that we are different, and that some of us are better than others.

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” – Chief Seattle

We are all one, we all should have the same rights, and nobody deserves more than other, everyone has the same right to live on this earth, and nobody for any reason should remove that right from anyone. If we could just learn to understand each other, and accept our differences then this world could finally find peace.

We are all one under the same sky, and that is heaven on earth, but we decided to live a nightmare, we decided to separate from each other, and so we decided to turn heaven into hell, and suffer for the rest of our days.

We are all one regardless of Nationality, Gender, Race, Age, Religion, Culture, Sexual Preferences, or Social Status. So we should accept each other with our differences, and understand each other even when we might think different.

“So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” – Matthew 19:6

Nobody is better than anyone, the categories in which we live are the one that say that, categories created for a few, the same few who dominate you, and those who dominate the whole world. They have created those categories to separate people from each other, and taking with them all the power we have, so we can no longer think by ourselves, or make decisions, or do things, or make any kind of conclusions, so we will not interfere in their affairs anymore, what makes us their slaves.

So we are nothing more than slaves, which their brains have been washed, they have put in our mind the idea that we are separated, and that we cannot accept or tolerate for any reason someone who has different thoughts, beliefs, ideas, or something that your category says you should refuse. So they can dominate the world, while we hurt and kill each other for fake beliefs that have been imposed on us, by the big entities that own this planet.

“Individually, we are one drop. Together we are an ocean.” – Ryunosuke Satoro

We are all one, with different beliefs, thoughts, appearances, or with different tastes, but we are all human beings, and we should have the same rights, and we should understand each other and help each other, as whatever you do to others, you do that to yourself too. There is no separation, there is nothing separated in this world, all our thoughts and action have a consequence upon us, and also in nature, in animals, and in the whole world and that is why everything is falling apart.

Let’s allow us to have a different perspective, accepting the fact that we are one, connected with every being around us and accept others as they are and we’ll heal the world and finally live in peace.

Do Not Be Afraid to Be Alone

We live in a world, where being alone is something that scares us, that is why many time we lose ourselves, forgetting who we really are, being what we are not, in order to be accepted by others so we don’t have to face the dreaded solitude. But solitude is not something we should be scared of, but the opposite, as sometimes it is the best way to find ourselves.

“A man can be himself only so long as he is alone; and if he does not love solitude, he will not love freedom; for it is only when he is alone that he is really free.” - Arthur Schopenhauer

If we pay attention to what is happening around us, we can discover just by looking at people and their relationship with others, that actually being alone could be a benefit for our soul and life rather than a drawback, and you might be wondering why? Why it would be a benefit? Because being alone makes us reflect, it allows us to discover ourselves, because it is in the silence of our solitude where we can hear our inner voice. Solitude takes out the best version of ourselves, and it makes us find who we really are.

By being alone we allow us to move away from the outside world, and so we begin to think for ourselves, we question things, we start to find answers to our deepest questions, and sometimes that can be really hard, because it makes us realize that we were wrong in a lot of aspects in our life, especially in our idea of who we really are. So we start to listen to our own soul, and suddenly we find what we were looking for, we find ourselves.

”It’s beautiful to be alone. To be alone does not mean to be lonely. It means the mind is not influenced and contaminated by society.’’ – Jiddu Krishnamurti

Nowadays one of the biggest problem we are facing is that we actually don’t know who we really are, we just are what others wanted us to be, we are a product of society, so we accept that reality, but deep inside our hearts we feel incomplete, like if something was missing in ourselves, and so we found ourselves in the middle of a battle between the reality of our mind and the reality of our soul.

The problem is that not being alone with ourselves is blocking us to be what we really wanted to be. The fear of being alone makes us have the necessity to be with others, so we are what others want us to be in order to not be alone, or we surround ourselves with people who make us feel more lost, empty and the worst thing is that we find ourselves more alone than before.

”Don’t be scared to walk alone. Don’t be scared to like it.’’ – John Mayer

So I learned, that there is no way that you can find what you have been looking for, if you don’t start by loving to be with your own company. Once you know yourself and you do the things you love, and above all once you start loving yourself more you will learn that solitude is something that gives you the opportunity to be who you always wanted to be, and do the things you ever wanted to be. You will discover that being alone gives you wings to dream and discover a completely new you, without being affected and influenced by others, then you will enjoy life more, and everything that you have ever dreamed of will come true.

If we could just learn to be alone, enjoying our own company, we would find how amazing we really are, and what can we actually do without needing anyone else to do it. Therefore, do not be afraid to be alone, because it is not a punishment but a blessing, take advantage of it, and do not be afraid to talk and laugh with yourself. Enjoy your own company, do what you love to do, travel to the places you have always wanted to go, listen to your favorite music, or read your favorite book. Sometimes to be alone is what we need, because when we are only with ourselves we are free, and we are not influenced nor controlled by society, and that way we can enjoy being our true self.

”I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.’’ – Oscar Wilde

Learn to be alone, do not be afraid to be only with yourself, love the silence, love your own voice, enjoy your own company, and feel comfortable being with your own soul. Learn to separate yourself from people who don’t let you be yourself, people who don’t let you grow and evolve.

When you stop being afraid to be alone, looking its positive side, you will learn to enjoy every second alone, and you become wiser at the time of choosing the people to whom surround yourself with. You will take your time to choose the right people, with no rush, without having the necessity to depend on others.

”I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone, it’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.’’ – Robin Williams

We are going to be alone many times in our lives, either by choice, or because there will be no other choice, sometimes we will face it abruptly, and in that moment can be very painful, but in that solitude that is not absolute, because nobody can be really alone if we learn to love our own company, you will find your own voice, you will listen to your soul, you will enjoy your own company, you will find yourself, and you will discover that being alone was not something negative, but very positive. Solitude is a gift if we know how to take advantage of it. You can change your situation at any time, you must simply change the way you see life.
