Take a break to enjoy the moment!

Tick-tock, tick-tock. The clock hands keep spinning, faster and faster, they never stop. Second after second our life goes by very quickly. The time does not give us respite, consuming our existence minute after minute. We are always rushing against the clock, the day seem to have less than 24 hours and our days go by very quickly. Plans after plans, our schedule is full. The stress is high and the joy is low. Life goes by very fast, time never stops, and I wonder: When was the last time you took a break to enjoy your wonderful life?

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." - John Lennon #break

We live in a hectic world where our minds rarely takes a break. Our daily routines and chores keep us busy and our worries, problems, tasks and plans prevent our mind from stopping. We live under so much tension and our minds working at such high revolutions tend to collapse and that is the moment when the stress takes over our soul, mind and body. We cease to be in control of our own feelings and emotions, becoming puppets of our hectic and stressful life, losing every possibility to experience joy and happiness in our daily lives. Can we revert this? Absolutely. In order to regain our freedom to feel happy and joyful we should take a break to truly experience the wonderful fact of being alive.

The truth is that our time on earth goes very fast and is very short, but the problem is not that our existence is short, but that we do not seize every second of our life because we tend to be very busy making plans. Our minds tends to dwell more in our future that in our present, and a man can only truly live in his present. The now, this very moment is your life, the past are only a set of memories, and the future is an illusion. The only thing that is real, the only thing that we can truly experience, feel and touch is our present. What is happening right now, in this moment is all we have, and every second of it is worth living, because every second of our life is unique experience.

“I have realized that the past and future are real illusions, that they exist in the present, which is what there is and all there is.” – Alan Watts

How many moments do we miss each day by being too busy making other plans? When was the last time you really enjoyed the company of family and friends without thinking about tomorrow’s plans? When was the last time you looked at the sky, watched the stars and admired the moon with a quiet mind? When was the last time you enjoyed the pleasant warm of a sunny day without thinking about the things you needed to do later? When was the last time you simply enjoyed the fact of being alive without being worried about the future? When was the last time you were relaxed, at peace, simply connecting with your soul, you deepest self? When was the last time you were truly present? How many times does your mind stay focused in this very moment without traveling constantly to the future? When was the last time you took a break from your hectic life and  simply took the time to enjoy the simplest and deepest things of your surroundings?

Taking a break a couple of minutes a day to contemplate our surroundings, to enjoy the company of others, to do the things that makes us happy, or to simply enjoy a wonderful time with our own selves can bring us to a state of ecstasy that will flood our soul and mind with a tremendous positive energy that will change the way we experience our lives. Disconnecting yourself from technology, from work, school, from your debts, your worries, and other plans can sometimes be the solution to the stress that contaminates our soul and mind day after day. Do not let your life slip from your hands, rather take the time to enjoy the beautiful moments that never come back like a tea with your mother, a walk in the beach, a kiss with your partner, a game with your kids, a beautiful sunset, a dinner with your friends or all those unique moments that we take for granted and that enriches our lives.

“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.” –  Lucius Annaeus Seneca

The clock of life keeps ticking, and it could stop at any moment. Nothing can guarantee us that it will keep ticking tomorrow, that is how unpredictable our life is. Therefore, we should seize every second of our life as if it was the last. While making plans and thinking about the future gives our life a meaning, enjoying every moment of our life, enjoying our present without always making other plans is the way to truly enjoy our life to the fullest.

From time to time take a break from your hectic life. Stop, breath, relax and simply enjoy this moment, because this moment is your life, don’t let it go, rather seize every second of it!

Why Am I a Vegetarian?

Every time I say I am a vegetarian, people ask: Why? Well, Mahatma Gandhi once said: “Be the change you wish to see in the world” and that’s why I’ve decided to become a vegetarian, because I believe we can live in a world in peace, but peace is something we all create, and to demand peace, we must first start by being the source of it, and that includes the things we feel, think, say and do. And choosing life before death in our dishes is a way of making peace.

“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.” - Thomas A. Edison #vegetarian #vegetarianism

I believe freedom makes us happy, and happiness brings us peace, and a world without freedom, nor peace cannot survive, and the lack of all those things create violence, and today there is violence everywhere, and that violence is bringing our existence to an end. How can we expect to live in a world in peace when we are constantly creating violence? There is violence in our daily lives, in our jobs and schools, there is violence in our homes, there is violence in the programs we watch, in the books and newspaper we read, in the games we play, in the music we hear, and there is violence in the food we eat.

We are covered with the blood of those who suffer: People, animals, and our precious world. When we choose to close our eyes against the suffering of other beings, we choose to be accomplices of the injustices of this world. But why does this happen? Because we are too worried in our own businesses that we forgot to remember the ones next to us. We have become so selfish that we do not care if in order to satisfy our own needs, we make others suffer.

“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.” – Leo Tolstoy

That is why we constantly do things that only benefits us, for example: eating dead animals. In my case, I have been the human grave of many animals. I tasted them, and I ate them for many years; I were always aware of their suffering but it was too complicated for me to change my lifestyle, so I decided to keep being the coffin of the remains of dead animals. The funny thing was that I always proclaimed myself as an animal lover, I was against those who cause them pain, but I was eating them, and that is pretty much the same as killing them; because of me they die, because of my needs and pleasures they are slaughtered, because of me they suffer.

And that is the worst part of all: Our hypocrisy. We proclaim ourselves as animal lovers; we kiss and hug our dogs and cats, but we go to a zoo, and admire the beautiful animals caged sleeping on their own excrement. We watch hunters killing without mercy, taking photos of themselves with the corpses of dead animals and we get angry, we see what other heartless people do to animals in meat trades and we get mad. We see a beautiful video of a sweet little pig and we all die of tenderness.

“Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.”  – Albert Schweitzer

And then what? What happens when we have that little pig killed and dismembered in our dishes? Do we get angry or upset? Do we get sad? Or do we eat it with pleasure and joy?  “Well, I have to eat, and I do not see that piece of meat as an animal but as food, and meat is good for our health, and it tastes good, and being a vegetarian is boring.” Excuses, and more excuses that people use in order to justify the slaughter of animals.

We are fast to judge others for their actions while we close our eyes while doing ours. People look at me weird, they laugh, they do not understand and ask me all the time: Why are you a vegetarian? And the answer is: Because I believe that every being on this planet should be free without being afraid that others will take away their freedom. Nobody, not a single person or animal should be enslaved, caged, tortured, or killed for the satisfaction of another being. We all deserve freedom and peace, and that are our main given rights. At the same time, this is not only about us or animals, it is about our planet, which is being killed by our deadly habits.

“I choose not to make a graveyard of my body for the rotting corpses of dead animals.” – George Bernard Shaw

This is not about being a vegetarian or not. This is about peace; this is about freedom. If you deserve those things, what made you think that other beings do not deserve the same rights? Who are we to choose who dies and who lives? And if you don’t care about animals, do you care about your home? And with home I mean your planet, without it we cease to exist. Once again, it is our habits and behaviors that are killing our world and their creatures, therefore, we are slowly committing suicide, and destroying the home of the next generation. We cause our own destruction, we take away our peace and we end with our freedom.

What I mean is that I have chosen this way of life not to be a super hero or the savior of the world, but because I wanted my actions to match my ideals. I wanted to leave my selfishness and hypocrisy aside, just because they do not identify my true self. I want peace for me, and for all the beings in this world. And I believe we must start by being the change we want to see in the world.

“Now I can look at you in peace; I don’t eat you any more.” – Franz Kafka

Therefore, I encourage you to leave aside the person that you are not, and become the person you are capable of becoming. I don’t try to make you vegetarian, I do not want to change you neither judge you, I just want you to be the source of the things you are looking for. Do you want love, kindness, compassion, peace? Do not wait that to come to you, go out and be all of that!

May your actions represent your ideals, your passions, your true self. Always remember that every little thing can make a huge difference in our daily lives and the life of others! No matter how crazy it sounds, together we can make a change, let’s make this world a better world for all! For a non-violent, without suffering nor pain, and more peaceful world!

Our Silence: The Weapon of Evil

The evil has triumphed, without much effort has defeated the good, snatching its crown, and now, sitting on its throne runs the world. Its power has been the inaction of the good people, and their silence was its lethal weapon. Our silence is causing our own destruction, therefore, it is in our hands to take action and stop so much suffering.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

Our silence against the horrors of the world it is what has given to evil the power to conquer the world. Day after day, horrendous acts are being carried out around the world, and humanity remains silent. Evil act with impunity under our noses, and all of us, blind and deaf to the desperate cries of its victims, we remain motionless, speechless, before so much pain.

Our silence is the weapon that has been used by evil to win. It has not damaged its victims as much as we have damaged them with our silence. We are all accomplices of the atrocities committed in the world by remaining silent and looking away to those who claim our help. Our silence is our own punishment, because it condemns us to live in a world full of darkness ruled by evil, where nobody is exempt of its power.

In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

If the evil has won is because we have let it to win. Wars, murders, violence, rape, bullying, racism, and much more, all happen in front of our eyes, and our silence is our response. We become very confused and stunned before such atrocities but then we continue with our daily duties as if nothing happened. The problem is we do not act until evil touches us close. Once we face the clutches of evil, our silence becomes a cry, and the cry becomes a prayer, and then we realize that nobody seems to listen, and it is in that moment when we realize that humanity is too worried doing something else to listen to those who claim our help.

How different would everything be if we would realize the power we all have within. Together we can make this world a better place. It is the power of the good ones, what can put the evil on its knees, but for doing so we must not stay silent, but speak, not stay still, but act. The problem is we are not aware of our power, we believe we cannot make a difference, so we give up before trying. We wish and hope that someone, one day, will do something to help those who need it, but most of the time, that help never comes, and the pain of those who are suffering never ends. The only thing that we do, that does not help in any way is by remaining silent. Therefore, every little thing we can do counts.

“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.” – Albert Einstein

Love is what this world lacks. A love revolution is what we need to do if we want to live in peace. We need to know that nothing will change if we remain silent before the different types of atrocities that are committed each day. Together we must fight against evil, not with violence but we love, compassion and understanding. Every act of evil we see must be repudiated, and we must act in order to prevent any more suffering. Those who do evil need to know that we are not like them, and we must give them our good example. We must express and declare that we are all together regardless our race, culture or religion. Not any other innocent human being should suffer by the hands of those who do evil.

Together we can defeat evil, not by remaining silent but by raising our voices. It is time for us to do everything we can in order to stop those which threaten our own existence. Our voices need to be heard and our message must be clear: Yes to love and peace, No to violence and hate!

The Importance of Tolerance

This world has become a world with zero tolerance. Our lack of tolerance with others opinions and beliefs has created this chaotic and maddening separation between human beings. The result of such separation? sadness, suffering, despair, hatred and death. A world without tolerance is a world without peace, and a world without peace is a threat to our very existence.

"Tolerance is giving to every other human being every right that you claim for yourself." - Robert Green Ingersoll

What has made us think that our beliefs are better than others? What has made us think that we are the bearers of absolute truth? What has made us think that we can condemn others for thinking in a different way than us? How is it possible that we commit horrendous acts all in the name of our beliefs as a way of excusing ourselves?

The problem is that we all believe that we have the ultimate truth about something, we believe that our thoughts and beliefs are the right ones, and that the other ones are wrong, what has given us the impunity to act as we do, to condemn and punish others for the only motive of thinking different from us. This has caused not only the separation between nations, but between people all around the world. Families, friendships, relationships of all kind have been destroyed by the lack of tolerance of their own occupants.

“What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us pardon reciprocally each other’s folly – that is the first law of nature.” – Voltaire

We all consider ourselves tolerant and we ask others for tolerance, but the truth is we are all tolerant as long as the other person agrees with our opinions and beliefs, but tolerance is nothing more and nothing less than understanding others point of view. Tolerance does not involve having to agree with someone else’s opinion or having to share the same belief but involves the understanding of others perceptions about life and different matters.

Freedom is having the opportunity to believe in something, having our own personal opinion about a certain thing without being influenced or forced to do it. There is a huge diversity of thought, and that is what makes this world so interesting and beautiful, otherwise freedom would not exist, and we would become slaves of a tyrannical regime, and as our past has taught us, that is not a happy story.

“Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one’s own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.” – John F. Kennedy

Sports, religion, politics, money, and other matters are a prove that we lack tolerance.  We fight, we hate and we kill each other only because someone else doesn’t agree with our beliefs or doesn’t have the same opinion as us. The question is: Why do we want others to agree with us when we do no not want to agree with them? Because “My football team is much better than yours” “My God is much more great and powerful than yours” “My country is better and far richer than yours” “The political party I follow is better than the one you follow” “I am intelligent and you are an ignorant!” “I know more than you do” and so on.

Do you recognize those phrases? I do. I have said them and I’ve heard them from many people. We all believe we have the truth, and we believe that the other is wrong, and we want them to change their beliefs to satisfy our ego. The truth is this does not construct but destroys, and there is no more ignorance than thinking we are the special ones, the lucky owners of absolute truth about life. I mean, it is okay to discuss an idea, what is not okay is to not understand and comprehend that we all not think in the same way, and basically that is the idea of life: To be as free to think and believe what we want without needing the approval of someone else.

Everyone has different perspective about life, different points of view, and so we need to understand that in order to avoid unnecessary suffering, hate and despair, pointless fights and war, to protect ourselves, our world, and our whole existence. Let’s be more tolerant with others opinions and beliefs, and live in peace!

The Reflection of a Desperate Soul

The reflection of a desperate soul is a short story about a woman who was lost, but who found her true self. It is a story that reflects what is happening to most of the people in our society. Nowadays most of the people are trying to be someone else, trying to be what other people want them to be, forgetting to be themselves. People just exist but they don’t truly live, that’s why there is so much pain and sadness in people’s hearts. So here goes the story…

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“The reflection of a desperate soul”

It was 5.45 pm on a Tuesday afternoon; it was another common day for a normal woman. She was counting the minutes to get out of the office, or the cell how she used to call it. Finally, she left her prison’s cell to get into the concrete jungle, and as it was the rush hour, the madness was higher than usual. She took her bike as fast as she could and at full speed she headed home.

The concrete jungle was full of ghosts with empty souls, the view was horrific, but she knew a shortcut. She went back home through the secret paradise, which was a lake full of ducks, swans, birds and other different species perfectly hidden in the middle of the city, or the concrete jungle as she used to call it. She usually stopped every day to admire the view for a couple of minutes before going back home, because somehow she always felt some kind of peace while doing it, and as another normal day, she arrived to the lake, got down the bike and went to admire the view, not knowing that her life was about to change forever.

She was watching the animals when suddenly she saw herself reflected in the lake – Who am I? Why am I here? She wondered – She saw her reflection, but couldn’t recognize herself anymore. She always followed the rules, and always did everything she was supposed to do to please her family, friends, and the entire society. But she could see in her reflection her sad and empty eyes that seemed to scream for help, and she realized that she has never been herself, her inner emptiness reflected in her lifeless pale face and in her sad eyes confirmed it. She had forgotten what it was to be a little girl full of joy, dreams and happiness, she had stopped playing with dolls and puppets, and what was worse, she had become one of them, and the ones who were playing were others.

It was in that moment when she realized how lost she was, she never had time to look into her eyes, and reflect about her own miserable reflection. Her soul was empty and her heart seemed to have no pulse, she was a dead body, a ghost, a puppet, a programmed machine of society, she was everything, except herself. And she asked herself one more time – Who are you? Who have you become? – And then anger seized her. She was furious with herself, she was looking at her own reflection with disgust and repulsion, and in that moment of anger and confusion, while looking at her own pathetic reflection in the lake, she fell straight into the water, feelings of sadness and sorrow pierced her body. She stayed there floating on the water, feeling completely lost. She laid down on the lake watching the sky, and said to herself – This is it, I’m lost, I have no way out, I’m a puppet of this society, I don’t even know who I am anymore, I’m just the broken pieces of something I used to be, I have no purpose, no life, I’m not myself, I’m nothing – And she let her body sink into the depths of the lake as she watched the sky.

Suddenly while she was drowning, she saw a beautiful bird with its open wings, flying in the blue sky, she could not help staring at it with a smile on her face, because that bird reminded her about something she had lost many years ago, and that thing was freedom, freedom to be and to do whatever she wanted, freedom to go wherever she wanted, freedom to fly, to travel, to dream. And then after a few seconds she closed her eyes, and in the middle of that reflection and absolute relax, she forgot about the water going through her body, and because of this, she was about to give her last breath when she felt like someone was pushing her back to the surface, when she got there, she opened her eyes, and she saw everything in a completely different way, everything had changed, or in fact, she has changed. And as fast as she could, she got out of the lake and screamed – Freedom! I am free! – She had finally broken the heavy chains that were sinking her. The contact with her own reflection and her inner strength inspired by a divine miracle had opened her eyes, and so she found freedom, she found herself. With all that happiness and joy that gave life to her soul she ran like never before and went back to her home.

On the next day, she felt like she was born again, she realized that in order to be alive, she should be free to do the things she loves and be the person she always wanted to be. And she started living her life again, being her true self. She stopped being a puppet of the society, and far from it, she began to be her true self. And now being herself, being free again, she went out to follow her dreams, and lived her life with love, freedom and passion.

Finding Yourself

I hope you liked the reflection of a desperate soul, it is a story about losing and finding yourself, it’s a story about being free, free to be who you want to be and do whatever you want to do, freedom to go where we want, freedom to follow our heart and dreams. Freedom to choose our own path.

Sometimes in order to find yourself you must feel completely lost at first, because it is in those moments of absolute chaos, when you feel completely lost when you find yourself and with that you find freedom. Knowing who you are and be it, without worrying about what others may think of you means to be truly alive, because when you know who you are, you know why you are here, and discovering your life’s purpose is the key to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Let’s find ourselves, and recover our freedom!

Nourishing Your Mind With Positive Thoughts

We are what we eat and so it is with our mind: we are what we think, depending on how you feed your mind, is what you are going to experience in your life. You can have a positive mind or you can have a negative mind, what makes the difference between one and the other is the choice you make when you feed it and what you decide to consume every day.

"If it doesn't nourish your soul, get rid of it."

What we eat and drink through our mouth on a daily basis has consequences in our body, either short-term or long-term:

  • We can eat spoiled food and feel sick right away or after a few days, or we can get very sick after eating unhealthy food on a daily basis for a long period of time.
  • We can also eat fresh food one day and feel great, or we can eat healthy food daily for a long period of time and feel better and better every day.

Well, with the mind is exactly the same, what we consume on a daily basis through our eyes and ears has consequences in our mind, heart and spirit, either short-term or long-term:

  • We can consume negativity either hearing or watching a self-destructive situation and feel bad right away or after a few days, or we can get very sad and depressed after having consumed negativity for a long period of time in our lives.
  • We can also consume positivity one day and feel awesome, or we can consume positivity on a daily basis for a long period of time and feel happier every day.

“There are realities we all share, regardless of our nationality, language, or individual tastes. As we need food, so do we need emotional nourishment: love, kindness, appreciation, and support from others.” – J. Donald Walters

Nourishing your mind with positive thoughts, it is as important as nourishing your body with fresh and healthy food, because if we fail to nourish our mind with positive thoughts, affirmations and beliefs, we put in danger our whole existence on this planet, and not because we run the risk dying, because that is something we cannot avoid, but because we run the risk of not having truly lived while we could, and you can never truly live if you carry a negative mind through your lifetime.

In order to nourish your mind, it is necessary avoiding contaminating your spirit with negativity. It can seem harmless, but most of the time it is not. Any negativity you consume every day, regardless of the amount, can have a huge impact in your mind, and if you are not aware of it, you will consume it day after day without realizing the damage that is causing you, and the result will be catastrophic, it will take over your mind, and it will rule your life and you will suffer from all the side effects: depression, sadness, anger and anguish.

Don’t feed your mind with negative thoughts. If you do, you will come to believe them.” – Catherine Pulsifer.

Would you go now to the kitchen and eat rotten food for dinner? I guess no, right? Because it will make you feel bad, and you will probably have diarrhea, nausea, fever and you will have to call somebody for help. So, why you read those magazines that poison your mind, and gives you wrong belief about yourself and your life, making you feel miserable? Or why you keep watching that TV show that plants seeds of hatred, wickedness and sadness in your mind? Or why you keep hanging out with those people whom only take out the worst of people included yourself, people whom only speak the language of hate, hopelessness, gossip, racism and evil? Or why you keep wasting your time consuming all the rubbish you see and hear in a TV show, a movie, in a song, or the rubbish you keep reading in Facebook, magazines, and books that only drains the happiness of your heart? If you don’t eat rotten food because it will make you sick, why do you consume all that rubbish that makes you feel bad?

If you feel happy, if you have the life of your dreams, if everything you consume is giving you happiness and peace, keep going that way then, but if you are not, you need to change your diet, and with that I mean what you watch and hear on a daily basis, even if you think that is not making you any damage, because it is probably affecting you in a way or another, as I said before we are what we think and believe, and those beliefs create our behavior, which gives us our perspective and our reality.

If you want to be happy, nourish your mind and soul with positive thoughts, and get rid of all the negativity around you. If you have positive thoughts about you and your life, it will give you positive feelings, and if you have positive feelings, your behavior will be positive, and so your entire reality will be much more positive.

Resentment is poison for your life

Resentment is poison for your life, as it’s made with the perfect and lethal combination of fear, disappointment, anger and sadness, and this is one of the best recipes for suffering. If you want to live a happy life, you will have to let go of your resentment.

Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.

Resentment is what forbids us to recreate ourselves anew, because it ties us to past situations where we felt humiliated, sad, disappointed or angry, so instead of living in the present, we live tied to our past, and we repeat those past feelings over and over again, even if what we are going through in this present moment doesn’t have any kind of similarity with past situations.

We think resentment is the way to make justice for all those moments where someone made us feel bad with no reason, so we use our resentment as a way to justify our current behavior against life and people. What we most of the time don’t know is that resentment doesn’t punish anyone, but to the person who carries it, because resentment contaminates the heart and soul of those who suffer it.

As smoking is to the lungs, so is resentment to the soul; even one puff is bad for you.” – Elizabeth Gilbert

Resentment puts you limits, because it won’t allow you to be the best version of yourself. Resentment defines you, and makes you act according to what you are not, instead of allowing yourself to be the person you really are. Resentment blurs your vision and shrinks your perspective, gives you wrong beliefs or not allows you to change them, so it can control your feelings, and becomes the leader of your emotions and behaviors.

The problem of living under the control of our resentments is that we experience those unpleasant feelings we felt in the past over and over again, because we are attached to our a past, and so we bring back those feelings to the present, keeping them alive year after year, and when that happens we cannot see with clarity, and so we compare current situations with past situations even though they don’t have any kind of connection between them, and this happens because we are so contaminated with our resentment that we cannot see the difference.

The truth is resentment never helps us in any way, but rather consumes our soul and punishes us with a heavy charge we must carry in our backs through our life, and true peace and happiness cannot be found if we don’t release the weight we carry in ourselves. Once you let go of your resentment you will feel at peace, and you will have back the power to create yourself anew at any moment you wish. You will decide how something will affect you, depending in how you feel at that moment, and you will not be influenced by your past any more, what gives you totally freedom to be who you want to be, and to feel what you want to feel without being influenced by your resentment.

“Bitterness and resentment only hurt one person, and it’s not the person we’re resenting – it’s us.” – Alana Stewart

You may be wondering: how can I let go of my resentment? And according to my experiences, what made me let go of that heavy charge was: Forgiveness. That is the key to release any attachment to any unpleasant situation from your past, what makes you be fully present in this moment, giving you the power to create yourself anew, what gives you the ability to see what is really happening so you can judge a situation according to your beliefs and emotions, what will give you better feelings and a much wider perspective, without letting resentment influence your present.

Resentment will disappear from your life if you forgive your past and those who have hurt you. The best way to do that is by releasing those toxic emotions that are holding you back. Express your emotions and don’t keep them in your heart, open your mouth, express yourself and release them. Your resentment will never let you enjoy your life, it won’t let you see a new reality, so let go of your resentment, and release your soul from any attachment to your past!

We are our own worst enemy

We are our own worst enemy and most of the time we haven’t even noticed that, because we are too focused on blaming others for our misfortunes, we have the wrong belief that life is our enemy, when in fact our true enemy is oneself.

"We have to learn to be our own best friend because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies." - Roderick Thorp

If you feel that nothing is going right in your life, if you feel that your relationship, your job, career or nothing in your life is going as you wanted, and if you keep pointing fingers to others making them guilty for your failure, thinking that everyone is your enemy, let me tell you something, they are not, or probably they are not your worst enemies, because there is no worst enemy than the one who resides inside yourself.

You are not where you want to be because of you, it is you who is sabotaging your own dreams. No one has the power to control your life but you, because if you truly want something no matter how small or how big if you believe in yourself, you will get it, unless you keep being a victim, letting others take the control of your own destiny.

“Very often we are our own worst enemy as we foolishly build stumbling blocks on the path that leads to success and happiness.” – Louis Binstock

The problem is not that we have an enemy living inside all of us, but the problem itself is that we make it grow day after day with our thoughts and our lack of trust in ourselves, and when the enemy has grown enough, it ceases to be part of us, because in fact becomes us, and when we become our worst enemy, we no longer have the control of our own life, leaving everything to chance, which most of the time is not in our favor.

When we become our worst enemy, we adopt the victim role, so we accuse life and everyone on it for everything that happens to us, we believe that someone else has the fault, and so we blame others, we blame our past, we blame our dad and mom and brothers and sisters and our entire family, we blame the country in where we live, we blame society, we blame our job, our boss, our colleagues, we blame our school, our teachers, we blame everyone except ourselves because it’s easier for us to accept that someone else has the fault rather than to accept that we have the fault of everything because we haven’t done anything to change our life because we know that it will require a lot of strength, commitment, and courage to create whatever we want to create in our life.

“Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.” – Charles Spurgeon

The good news is that life gives you the opportunity to start again, every minute of every hour, you have the opportunity to recreate yourself, and you can decide to stop being your worst enemy and start being your best friend, and you can do this through love, because love is the most wonderful gift we have, love is more powerful than fear, so you can be your worst enemy through fear, insecurities and hate, or you can be your best friend through love what will make you believe in yourself again, giving you the courage, strength and trust you will need to get the life you always wanted, or you can continue being your worst enemy and sabotaging every step of the way to success and blaming others for that.

Remember that you will never get where you want to get if you don’t make peace with yourself, the only way to have the life of your dreams is believing in yourself, and you will never believe in yourself if you are your worst enemy, because you don’t trust your enemies, you trust your friends, so become your best friend, and take back the control of your life, because it’s the only way to change your life, being in control makes you be the creator of your own reality, so you can change your reality at any time you want.

“Make sure your worst enemy doesn’t live between your own two ears.” – Laird Hamilton

Be your worst enemy and listen every day to that inner voice that says: you can’t do it, you are not good enough, you are pathetic, everyone hate you, a happy life is not for you, you are a coward, you are useless, everyone has the fault for your failure, you’re a loser just accept it and live with that! Or my friend, you can become your best friend, and start loving and believing in yourself, knowing that you are capable of doing anything you want in your life, become your best friend and listen to your heart and soul, that will say to you every day: you are amazing, you can do it, don’t worry try again, you deserve better, you have all the potential you need to make your dreams come true, you have the power to start again, you’re a winner!

You can make yourself a winner or a loser, whether you choose, you are responsible! Let love be your guide not fear, and don’t be your worst enemy and sabotage your own life and dreams, be your best friend and change your whole life experience!

Judge less, Love more

Judge less, Love more

The problem is we judge too much. We go through life judging everyone around us as if we were superior species from another galaxy whom they do everything well, and whom always make the best decisions. But the truth is that we are all humans and we all have the right to do whatever we want according to our own vision of life.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Matthew 7:1-2

We waste so much time judging others than we forget to judge ourselves, and that is when the problem begins, because if we are going to judge, let’s judge ourselves first, and then we could see the reason why we act as we act every day, what will make us understand that everyone around us have also reasons deep inside their hearts to say the things they say and to act the way they act.

It’s easy for us to judge someone, what is hard for us is to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes. If we could do that, and if we could not only put ourselves in someone else’s shoes, but feel what that person is feeling deep inside their heart, I’m sure we would be surprised, and we will never judge a person again in our life.

“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” – Mother Theresa

It’s easy for us to judge people all the time, it’s easy for us to judge people by the way they act, the way they speak, the way they think, the way they feel, the way they look, the way they dress, it’s easy for us to judge people for what they do and what they say and it’s easy for us to judge people through the decisions they make. And why is it so easy for us to judge? Because we don’t have an idea what another person has in its mind and heart and we are not even close to know how a person is feeling inside, because we can know the story of a person, but we can never feel what another person feels about something.

Judging others doesn’t make us better, but actually does the opposite, because we define ourselves every time we judge another person, and the act of judging others reflects how we feel about ourselves. Every time we judge, we express the lack of love for ourselves and for life, because it requires having in ourselves a lot of love, tolerance and compassion to not judge another person anymore, but understand them even when we disagree with them in all aspects.

“When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself” – Wayne dyer

What I believe is that the world could be a better place if we could learn to understand each other even when we think or act different, because it does any good to go through life judging people, nothing will change if we keep doing that, different would be if we could change a judgment for an observation, with the only purpose to help someone.

What I want you to understand is that is totally fine to disagree with another person, because we are all humans, but we have different beliefs, we think differently, we speak in different ways and we feel in different ways, everyone should walk their own path, but in order to find peace we should understand others and accept them as they are, because everyone acts according their vision of their world.

You deserve to be understood and not judged for the way you are as everyone else around you. So if you don’t want to be judged, do not judge others.

Forgiveness will set you free

Forgiveness wil set you free

Forgiveness will set you free, once you choose to forgive, you choose to separate yourself from any negative outcome you had in the past, that still resounds in your present, forgiveness is not something you give to others, forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself.

We have wrong beliefs about what forgiveness really mean, and that is why we doubt every time we want to forgive. What we need to understand is that forgiveness is something you do for you; it seems as it something that you only do for another, but in fact, the result of forgiveness is something that will benefit you more than anyone else.

We see forgiveness as a gift to another, while that can have some benefits to others, and it can give some kind of peace in someone else’s life, it will never let someone to be free from being guilty, that is something that they have to do for themselves, they have to forgive themselves in order to be free.

“Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.” –Jonathan Lockwood Huie.

We see the act of forgiveness as an act of weakness, but in fact it requires a lot of courage and strength to forgive, it’s the way that you have to step aside from the victim role, and see everything with a different perspective, and it will give you the power to control a situation, without giving it the opportunity to control your thoughts, emotions and life.

What someone does to another, is a way to reflect how they feel deep inside their heart, because when you feel happy, and you love yourself, there is no way that you can hurt someone else, it is always the one who has a broken heart, the one who breaks someone else’s heart.

“When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That’s the message he is sending.”- Thich Nhat Hanh

So the best way to forgive, in fact the way we have to never have a motive to forgive again, it is by never taking something personally, even though an action seems to be against you, for the only purpose of hurting you, it is something never really done against you, but rather something that people do for themselves.

Think it this way: all of us have done something against someone, so first of all, nobody is innocent, so anybody can find a good motive to do something according to their belief, but what I want you to understand is that when you do something bad to another human being, you do that against you too, because what you give, you receive, is that simple, nobody that do a negative action can have positive feeling about it, the negativity and positivity simply do not go together.

“Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior, forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying your heart.” – Unknown

So knowing that, it is a very useful way to not take anything personally, what it will give you the opportunity to see everything from another perspective, you will not see yourself as a victim any more, and you will understand what is really happening and why is it happening.

By allowing yourself to seeing everything from another perspective, will give you a different reality, and you will understand them and forgive them, because you know that whatever somebody is doing to you, it is doing to himself too, because as I said before you can never do a negative action against someone and expect a positive result out of it, so that person is the first victim of all the pain that he is causing.

“The weak can never forgive; forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” – Mahatma Gandhi

So allow yourself the gift of forgiveness, do not let any situation stop you from moving forward, and set you free from all pain and sadness from the past, using that as strength and as a motivation to keep getting better, because you do not want to be like them, and you don’t want them to win, being their victim, and you either want to be condemned for something you have done in the past, believe me, you are better than that!

Forgive others and forgive yourself from any past situation and you will be free!
