We Are All Genius

We live in the kind of world where the members of their society are labelled as if they were merely products that will end up on a store shelf to be selected or discarded according to someone’s needs. The society in where we live condemns you or glorifies you according to the label you possess. Since school, we are categorized with a grade, and that symbol becomes our burden. We believe that our intelligence depends on the amount of excellent grades we get, and that belief tends to create our reality, but the truth is everybody is a genius, with our own personal characteristics and skills, and that is what it makes us unique.

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein

We are all the same, we are all one, we are all humans, we are all mortals, however, we are also different as we all have different personalities, characteristics, skills, qualities, beliefs and opinions, and that creates unique beings, as human’s fingers, where they might all look the same, but in the end they all have their own distinctive and unique pattern what creates different fingerprints. For that reason, we all possess a particular talent and skills that create a different kind of geniuses. Therefore, a genius cannot be described in one way, but in several ways.

All my life I struggled to find my own talent; at school I wasn’t the student with the best grades, I didn’t even know who I wanted to be or what I wanted to do when I grow up, usually I tended to lose faith in myself and let my future be at mercy of my luck. The problem is that this society has made us believe that if you are not the best, the first one, the most intelligent and get all the best grades you will fail miserably, and that belief has put a high level of pressure in our daily lives, because in order to avoid failure, we push ourselves in a very dangerous way, most of the time refusing to be what we were meant to be and becoming the type of person imposed by society in order to be successful.

“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The truth is that saying that a genius is that one who has only certain specific characteristics and abilities, only limits the true greatness in every human being, because by saying that, we limit the person who has not those characteristics and abilities, giving them the idea that they are simply mediocre beings, and they live their lives limiting their true potential. For example, I always believed that because I was not good at school, especially in mathematics, I was good for nothing. I always wished to be like the “genius” ones. I lost faith in myself and I settle for a life that was far less the one I deserved.

One day I started to believe in myself, and I discovered all those talents and skills that were hidden overshadowed by my fears, beliefs, and limiting thoughts about myself. When I ceased to let the opinions and belief of others to define me, I began to discover my true potential, and when you are no longer limited by the established standards by this society , you begin to redefine yourself, and you create a new version of yourself. In my case, I discovered those things that made me a genius. Now I do not let my lack of knowledge in something, or my poor mathematics or history skills or whatever it is to define me, I do not let a grade or a person qualify me or categorize me according to my capabilities.

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

When you cease to seek the approval of others, when you release yourself from the stressful act of fitting in, when you cease to be the person you are supposed to become, and you stop worrying about being “perfect” or letting the opinions and beliefs of others to define you, you will have the opportunity to discover your true talents, abilities and skills. Therefore, do not aim to become the standard of human perfection, but aim for what you are good at, if you don’t know what that is, go find it, work hard, improve, evolve and become the best version of yourself!

Do not beat yourself up if you can’t do everything perfectly, remember that every human has its own talents and skills, and in the end, everyone is a genius. Fish maybe cannot climb a tree but they have the ability to live underwater. Therefore, do not compare yourself with other people “genius” but rather follow your own heart, be whoever you want to be, discover your greatness and be the genius that you truly are!

Great Spirits Will Always Encounter Fierce Opposition

We constantly live our lives fighting a battle between who we really and who we are supposed to be. We were taught that in order to be successful we must belong and fit in this society. The truth is, when we deny our true identity, even if we had success and we were accepted by the majority, we will fail, but when we rise and declare who we really are and we face our doubts, fears, criticism and opposition courageously in the name of our highest ideals and values, and dare to be our true self and live our purpose nobody can ever limit us nor stop us and that is one of the keys to success.

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." - Albert Einstein

One of the easiest ways to avoid criticism and opposition and be accepted is to remain in the side of the majority, thus, say what the say, do what they say, and behave as they behave. Refuse to be yourself and the person you think you are, and become the stereotype of perfection imposed by society.  The weirdos, the crazy ones, the unconventional human beings, those who think differently, those who don’t fit in, those who dream big, those who are constantly looking to improve themselves and be better persons are always marginalized and encounter a violent opposition.

However, if you want to make an impact, if you want to become a revolutionary, if you want to change the world, or if you simply want to be yourself and not being the perfect stereotype of person imposed by society, you need to be willing to separate yourself from some people and get ready to face opposition. In order to push the human race forward one must be willing to break the rules and refuse to accept the status quo. Therefore, evolution is the daily sum of revolutionary acts which challenges what is established and accepted by society, expanding humans’ perspectives, horizons and limitations, creating beliefs and ideas capable of changing the world for the better.

“Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?” – Danielle LaPorte

The question is: Are you willing to step aside from the majority in the name of your values, ideals and express your true self freely? If the answer is yes, are you then ready to face opposition, humiliation and solitude? The journey to become the best version of yourself, your true self and create a better world for everyone is not easy, but in the end, it will be worth it. There will be times where you will encounter yourself walking alone, there will be times where you will face humiliation  and opposition, there will be times where nobody will understand you, the temptation to give up and return to the “acceptance zone” will be strong, when this happens, don’t let your fears, doubts and other people’s opinion take your sight off from your higher values, goals and dreams.

The thing is, in this world it is much easier to belong, to be accepted and recognized as a member of the group of those who has been accepted by society. Nobody wants to be rejected, rejection is a strong feeling, that not many people can cope with. However, if we learn to love ourselves as we are and be confident about the person we truly are, we will walk our path in this life without fear of rejection, because once you accept yourself, you will never ever need the necessity to be accepted by others, and their opinions, thoughts and criticism will never be a limitation to become the person you know you can be, your true self, your best version.

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” – Mark Twain

Whether you are at school, or at the university, or at work, or any other place you might be, never feel ashamed to be who you really are, never fear the bullies. If you are different, if you are shy, if you don’t follow trend, if you are not the smartest, or the prettiest, if you are not the popular, or most funny, if you have big and “impossible” dreams and goals, if your beliefs are different than what is accepted, and most of all, if you know you are being your true self, and with true self I mean you best version of yourself, the person capable of changing those around you and make this world a better place for all, if deep inside yourself you know that what you are doing is the best you can do for you and for others, so be not afraid to affirm and declare the person you really are and go with confidence in the direction of the achievement of your personal growth and evolution, and with your example change the world and open the eyes of those who cannot see that violence, hatred, intolerance and ignorance will never be bring us peace, love nor success!

Discover your true self, love and accept the person you really are regardless if you are accepted by other people or not, never cease to improve yourself, release your true potential, stay true to your values and ideals, do not let your soul and your true self be corrupted by the fear of being rejected, do not feel ashamed for who you really are, and with courage and confidence go out, make your dreams become a reality, make an impact, be the best version of your self and change the world!

The Rebellious Act of Liking Yourself

We live in a world so obsessed with external appearances that the package has become more important than the content. Nowadays looking good on the outside has become our main priority, our obsession, and the only reason is to be accepted in this society that condemns you or glorifies you for your appearance. Therefore, liking yourself in a society that plays with your self-esteem and expect you to feel ugly is a rebellious act that gives you freedom!

In a society that profits from your self doubt liking yourself is a rebellious act. Caroline Caldwell

This society wants us to believe that in order to be successful we need to look beautiful on the outside. Since we are born we are exposed to different sources which its only purpose is to make us feel ugly. They created the concept that ugly equals unhappiness, and beauty equals happiness and success. It seems that you can only love yourself if you are beautiful on the outside, and that, of course, never happens, and why? because if you finally love yourself, the business would be over, and where there is no business, there is no money.

Our minds have been infected with this virus from the day one. When we are born they cut us our hair, they make a hole in our ears so we can look pretty with cute little earrings, they dress us like dolls, and they make us to act as princesses and princes. As we grew, they gave us skinny, blonde, and blue-eyed Barbie’s to play with, and as we continue to grow that infernal virus sickened our mind with make-up, plastic surgery, reality shows with all good-looking people, movies with beautiful actors, music played by pretty boys and girls, and TV commercials that constantly wash our brains, day in and day out.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The problem is that we have accepted the concept that we need to look pretty in order to feel happy. We believe that eventually we are going to love ourselves once we look beautiful on the outside, so we buy all the crap that we can find in order to feel happy and like ourselves, but this never ends, we never feel completely happy with ourselves and we want more, we want to look as the girls in the magazines, and the problem is that they do not even look like that in the reality. We chase a fake stereotype of beauty that doesn’t exist.

The problem is that they make us believe that it exists, so we never stop buying the crap they sell, submitting ourselves to this maniac marketing that owns us. There is always something new, a new type of plastic surgery, a new revolutionary product that will make you look 20 years younger, and wonderful tanning product that will make you look tanned the 365 days of a year, a new make-up that transforms your face into a fake and unnatural doll. There always will be something that you will need in order to look beautiful and feel happy. This never stops, never.

“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” – Louise L. Hay

Therefore, if you want to be beautiful, start by liking yourself just the way you are, love the real you without any artificial product or special clothes or anything, simply love what society calls “imperfections” because they are not, they are perfect, you are perfect just the way you are. Beauty is a concept that society created in order to set a standard, and profit from it, but everyone is beautiful, we are unique, original, one of a kind, we do not need to be someone else to be beautiful, being ourselves and liking ourselves is what makes us beautiful.

What I mean is that is completely okay to buy and wear all the products you want, as long as your happiness doesn’t depend from it. Change your hair color, wear make-up, make a diet, go to the gym, buy new clothes, use your favorite cream, but do it because you like it, not to impress others, not to be accepted, not to belong, not to feel happy or be successful because you will never be completely happy if you depend on all that to feel good with yourself. Wake up in the morning, go to the mirror, and look yourself without make-up, with your disheveled hair, with your Minnie mouse pajamas, look at your face with your wrinkles, pimples, look at your body with all your “imperfections” and smile at you, because you are beautiful. Love yourself in that very moment and you will find freedom to be yourself without needing anything in order to be it.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

They once said: “beauty hurts” – No my friend, beauty doesn’t hurt, what it hurts is not being able to look yourself in the mirror, and like what you are seeing simply because you don’t look like the girl in the magazine. Not being able to see your true beauty, makes you miserable, and it doesn’t matter how hard you try to look “beautiful” you will always feel miserable, and that hurts thousands of times more than walking with high heels, plastic surgery or waxing. Can you understand the real problem here? It is you! It is the way you see yourself, change the eyes with which you see yourself, fall in love with your true self and you will change your whole life… and you will save a lot of money too! 😉

If you look yourself at the mirror and you like what you see, do you think you will care what others think? Absolutely no! that is called self-confidence and that is liking yourself! You don’t need anything to be beautiful, you already are, just remember that and be free to be your authentic, wonderful, and beautiful self!

Do You Really Believe In Your Dreams?

Do you really believe in your dreams? Because dreaming is not enough, in order to make your dreams come true, you must believe in them with all your heart. If you truly believe in your dreams, there is nothing that can stop you from making them become a reality.

"Imagine with all your mind, believe with all your heart, achieve with all your might." #believe

We all have dreams, but only few of us are able to turn them into a reality, and why this happens? Well, the reasons are varied, but one of the main reasons is because we don’t really believe in our dreams, within ourselves, in that place we do not know, where our beliefs are kept, we hold the belief that our dreams are impossible or difficult to come true, and those beliefs actually sabotage our dreams. No matter what we do, we continue to fail in the attempt to make them a reality, because somehow we know they are impossible, and that belief creates our reality.

Believing is one of the main tools we have to create the life we want and if we believe in something as impossible, that belief will help create the fact that our reality is not a place where dreams are possible and our dreams will remain dreams until the end of our days on this earth, without the possibility to actually live the life we have always dreamed of.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

To a greater or lesser extent we are all dreamers, but because of the limitations we all have in our mind because of our fears imposed by the outside world, only few of us have the possibility to live the life of our dreams, and that’s because those people have not only dreamed, but also believed, not only believed but also they have done everything they could to turn their dreams into a reality. For those people nothing is impossible, they dreamed and they believed with all their might even when nobody believed in them, those people are unstoppable dream hunters, and they never stopped until they succeeded.

Everyone can dream but not everyone can truly believe, and it doesn’t matter how much you dream and how many dreams you have, if you don’t believe in them, if you don’t believe they are possible, they never will be, because nobody is going to try to make something impossible into possible, for instance, you are not going to jump from a building expecting to fly when you know deep inside your heart that flying is impossible, you are not even going to try, you dream of flying, but you know it’s impossible, so you will do nothing, end of story.

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” – Anatole France

Believing makes everything possible, because it actually changes your mental programming which has been programmed with a very narrow perspective, and by changing your beliefs, you change your whole life. When you actually start believing in your dreams, you broaden your perspective and what was once impossible for you, it is now possible, and so, your dreams start to feel more real.

So, do you really believe in your dreams? Try to be honest with yourself – Close your eyes for a second and think about your dream, can you see it? Well, now try to see yourself in your dream, visualize it; make it real, how does it look like? How does it feel? It feels great, isn’t it? Well, now look around you, and try to look yourself at the mirror, can you imagine that person you are seeing capable of achieving anything? Do you believe in that person? Yes? And so do you believe in your dream? Do you believe it’s possible? So what are you waiting for? Go out and make it happen!

Dreams are possible for those who dare to believe they can come true. Believe that what you want is possible, and it will! Dream, Believe, Achieve.

You Are Allowed To Make Mistakes

It is through mistakes that we become wiser, and so you should allow yourself to make mistakes, don’t be afraid of making them, and just be afraid of not trying anything new for the fear of making mistakes, because it is in that moment where you make the biggest mistake of all: The mistake of being too afraid to live truly.

"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

There is no other way to learn without making a mistake first, every successful person you have met, has not reached to that place of glory without having made many mistakes along the way. They have been defeated many times, they have failed over and over again, but they didn’t let those mistakes to stop them, rather they learned from them and they kept moving forward.

Those people have become what they are now thanks to their mistakes, because they have collaborated to develop the greatness inside them. They tried and they failed, they have made many mistakes, but they have learned from them, and that is why they became successful. When you learn from your mistakes you become wiser, and when you become wiser, you learn to do something in a different and better way, and that is when you achieve success.

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” – George Bernard Shaw

When you refuse to do the things you always wanted to do because of the fear of making mistakes, it is in the exact moment when you actually make the greatest mistake of all: The mistake of refusing to live the life you have always wanted. You must accept mistakes as part of the process of doing something, being able to learn from them, so you can become the person you always wanted to be and have the life you always wanted to have.

Mistakes can prove two different things: They can prove how useless you are if you have refused to learn from them, making the same mistakes over and over again, and achieving nothing but failure, or they can prove how wise you have become after you have learned from your mistakes, making everything in a completely different way, achieving nothing more than success.

“Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

Mistakes can be a synonym of failure, but they can also be a synonym of success if you learn from them. The problem is we think that mistakes indicates that we have failed, but the truth is they only indicates that we have been doing something the wrong way, this means that we still have the opportunity to do something but in a total different way. Mistakes teach us how not to do something, so we can find the best way to do it the right way, and in that process of learning from them, we become a better person, and we become wiser.

Embrace the fact that you will make mistakes along the way, because mistakes are part of our success, so in fact there is no such thing as mistakes, there are only ways of not doing something. If you are able to see mistakes as a lesson, if you can see the true treasure they hold within, if you can learn from them, then you will find the key to success.

“A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.” – John C. Maxwell

On the other hand if you refuse to see them as lesson, you risk doing them over and over again, because the first way to learn from them is by accepting that we have made a mistake, that way we can see we have being doing something the wrong way, and it is not the best thing we can do if we want to become a better person. If you don’t accept your mistakes, if you don’t try to correct them, then you will condemn yourself to a life of failure, because you will turn your mistakes into habits.

So don’t be afraid of doing something because of the fear of making mistakes, but rather be afraid of not making them at all, because that way you will have failed by default. Mistakes are not lethal, they don’t define who you are, they just challenge you so you can become better, and they are an opportunity to become wiser.

Don’t let mistakes destroy you, don’t let them stop you, and don’t let them become a habit, just do what you have always wanted to do with confidence, make mistakes, learn from them, correct them, and become successful!
